Wow, Jeff does hob nob with the best, Ed Sheeran has inexplicably just sold out 3 nights at Wembley Stadium and is a hugely hot property. Ed is very big on falsetto, be good to see if he brings this out in Jeff too if this actually happens

Ed's a talented guy, with a good grasp on pop music history. I'm intrigued.

That would be fantastic. Any aparition by the Lord would be fantastic. Had to google Ed Sheeran, never heard about him. If he plays with Jeff, I wish he is able to perform at his height.

I'm not much of an Ed Sheeran fan, but that would be amazing to see Jeff playing with him at the Grammy awards. Sheeran is one of the biggest artists out there right now. So many fans of the mainstream music world would be getting exposed to Jeff Lynne...even if they don't realize it...

I'm not a big Sheeran fan. He's ok I suppose but he's bigger than he deserves to be. At least if he gets our Jeff out and about he's ok with me.

I'm not a big Sheeran fan. He's ok I suppose but he's bigger than he deserves to be. I hadn't got any idea of whom he was (I don't follow modern music, I only listen to stuff from the '90s backwards), but since I knew he was going to play with Jeff I searched for several of his most well-known songs to know what we were talking about. The impression I got is pretty much like yours, Queen: that he is bigger than he deserves to be. I mean, I came to know he is huge apparently, judging by the number of views his videos have (some more than 200.000.000 views), but except for one nice ballad -in which I may have been influenced by the hyper hot dancer appearing in the video- nothing else I heard sounded good to me. Look at this: I mean, I'd rather Jeff played alone or with some old school guy.

Has there been any confirmation from either Jeff or his people that this is actually happening?

It's weird that the only mention of him being there, is on one commercial. No mention on the Grammy's site, or on Jeff's own Facebook page.

Jeff's Facebook and his website are useless. Last I looked, his website is still about the Brummie.
Easy PR mishandled.

When he played at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Summer Olympics ("Wish you were here", Pink Floyd) I read some comments like this: "Is this a new song? Wow, it's pretty amazing".

Well it's officially confirmed on his Facebook page now - he will be playing! It also appears that he is officially going by "Jeff Lynne's ELO" from here on out. It kind of makes me laugh, but I guess it's a smart move to call himself that at this point.
Also, I have to give his Facebook team credit. Before, one would have to scrounge around for any kind of Jeff Lynne/ELO news. Now, they finally have a way of getting news out faster and to a larger amount of people. I'm just waiting for the day when they announce: "The new album by Jeff Lynne's ELO!" It's bound to happen sometime in the next couple months.

I'm guessing he'll do either "Livin Thing" or "Mr. Blue Sky". Either way, this is great exposure, and likely a way to familiarize crowds with him again, before he tours.
