I had a mad thought today because I saw Tom Jones advertising The Voice, would Jeff be any good as a talent show judge.
I know he would never do it as he seems to shy but would Jeff be any good as a judge on sayThe X Factor or The Voice, his production and song writing skills are better in my opinion than Tom Jones and he gets away with it so why not our Jeff, it would be good advertising for his new album and/or tour.

I'm not sure. I mean, what a talent show judge does is basically judging pieces of art. Now, the main reference we have of Jeff judging pieces of art is how much he values his own different songs. In that sense, I wouldn't trust a guy who chose his own flag song to be "Mr. Blue Sky" and has "Turn to stone" among his favourites but doesn't give any importance to masterpieces such as "Summer and lightning", "Sweet is the night", "Midnight blue" or "The way life's meant to be".
Then, as you said, is the fact that those judges have to be quite quick and outgoing and Jeff is more on the shy side.

It would be an interesting side of Jeff to see how he handles talent. A look at his production style. How fast does he react. He rarely says anything new in his interviews because of the same questions and answers. No need for him to go beyond the familiar and use his "noodle".

: Mmm, he could be a judge on Pop Idle Race... Kerching! vlogdance strikes again Anyways, I think that besides being shy Jeff is too polite to diss anyone out loud. I read somewhere that Axl Rose wanted him to work on November Rain as he is a big ELO fan but Jeff (tactfully) said it couldn't be improved, or words to that effect. On the other hand he didn't mind enraging the rest of Tom Petty's band by sticking to his own method of recording in the face of their opposition. Becoming a judge on one of those TV talent shows seems to give the paparazzi the go-ahead to stalk you and take photos of you at every opportunity. He certainly wouldn't put himself up for that, BSJ and I would be so busy getting rid of them there'd be no time for our usual fun times

Don't know the show, am sure it's beyond ridiculous. It is and calling the people on it celebrities is insulting

The idea of Jeff on a rag like Z lister or X factor has the same appeal as Jeff working with take skat. Anyway anywhere "That @#$*&" Sharon Arden is/has been. ...I would imagine Jeff would stay far far away from. I don't think that either of them like each other at all. I vaguely remember that S.A. got E.L.O as a birthday gift to manage in '79? I could be wrong. ...but I believe Jeff was not too pleased. Sharon didn't get on with any of the family and I imagine that she can be a very disliked person.

Yes, I'd forgotten the SA factor. I think they got on with David Arden, but Shazza sounds like a bit of a spoilt brat at the time. And since, actually. Jeff would definitely steer clear.

Buttler. That is the most beautiful image in regards to the "nightmare" of Lord Dame Genius being involved in the "micky mouse pseudo talent show" infact if Jeff was to lower himself to the bowels of the next big fad/ talent.....well I think it would be the last insult that would bring out my inner serial killer.
