Yeah, I knew about GTA. It's sad that it had to come out in a videogame for people to know it, but the truth is that it made the song quite popular. In my opinion the song totally fits the game.
And "poor little valence"... hahaha

I see they do 'Four Little Diamonds', I'd see them for that alone. 'Latitude 88 North' is an interesting choice, not even the real Jeff, I imagine, would think to include that in a set. Funnily enough, when I saw them recently they didn't do either of those two!

Hey Helmut, Chereene has some competition, I don't think Mrs Wimp will let me take any photos, but a nice Cello player

Have a really great time last night the band were excellent. I last saw them 2-3 years ago and since then they have added another guitarist, two cellos and a violin, these really helped with the overall sound. The audience were as mentioned by other members older than I expected, it almost seemed they had brought then in from the local old peoples homes. I'm 51 but was one of the youngest there. Due to the age and high number of hip replacements everyone stayed seated for the concert which started promptly at 7.30pm.
The opening song was AOTW and then Evil Woman, I thought I know where they got that idea from (Hyde Park), the production, sound and attention to detail were first class, there was an interlude half way through, the second set started with Standin' in the Rain going into Big Wheels. The best tracks they did in my opinion were Diary of Horace Wimp, Big Wheels and Twilight. The show finished at exactly 10.00pm for the oldies to have a Horlicks before bed.
After the concert Mrs Wimp and her friend were very impressed and thought it was a great show (Mrs Wimp said it would of been better if she hadn't heard all the songs a million times before!!), we agreed for a tribute band there was no room for improvement every song they did was as close to the original as possible and expertly played. The band seemed to have a good time, the one cellist in the string section was always singing along and laughing and joking with the other string members who seemed genuinely happy to be playing the tunes.
If the band are ever in your area it's a no brainer, you MUST go and see them, you won't be disappointed.
Sorry Hemut, Summer and Lightning wasn't played, neither was Four Little Diamonds QOTH. The songs played are below, these are from memory and so weren't played in this actual order.
AOTW, Evil Woman, Shine a Little Love, Livin' Thing, Diary of Horace Wimp, Confusion, Roll Over Beethoven, Strange Magic, Turn to Stone, Xanadu, Mr Blue Sky, Showdown, Don't Bring Me Down, Last Train to London, Telephone Line, Standin' in the Rain, Big Wheels, Wild West Hero, Rock and Roll is King, Sweet Talkin' Woman, Twilight, Hold on Tight, Rockaria, 10538 Overture, Can't Get in Out of My Head,

Since you haven't mentioned it,I guess the spaceship wasn't there.it isn't used on every show because I would imagine, the size of it.

Good review, Horace. What a pity they didn't play S&L, but it was a very long repertoire.
And women... instead of being grateful for you taking her to such a wonderful concert, she reproached you for making her listen to the songs too many times!? Just wait until she finds out about the bathroom...

I've finished the bathroom and now moved on to the garden. I think any likely dates will be in the Spring, I can't have Chereene topping up her tan in the garden looking at weeds.
