My guesses on what will be coming our way in JL/ELO land in 2022...
No tour, due to the ongoing pandemic. New album, including songs from Jeff's vast vault of demos he's mentioned before. Talk of a reconciliation with Bev Bevan for a deep dive ELO documentary for Netflix or another streaming service. Jeff produces a song or two for a popular younger artist...think Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran or Phoebe Bridgers.

Following in he footsteps of artists like Bob Dylan, Stevie Nicks and Bruce Springsteen, Jeff Lynne will sell his catalog of songs.

I think we have seen the last of Jeff on the stage, unfortunately. No new album in 2022. Perhaps a new compilation where they prominently feature Mr. Blue Sky?

Here's my attempt at guessing what's on the cards for 2022:
1. As mentioned in that recent festive message, we'll get a new album at some point. Of course, it remains to be seen whether this is truly fresh material or Jeff mostly polishing up older ideas from his old tape archive.
2. To coincide with this activity and ELO's 50th anniversary, Sony will issue a retrospective that leans heavily on hits, but also includes some fresh tracks from the vaults, including a handful licensed by EMI.
3. Rather than live dates, we'll see Jeff's touring line-up reunite for some kind of virtual celebration, this appearance made in place of a more traditional documentary (since MBS took about two years to prepare).
4. We know that Jeff had enough leftovers to release follow-ups for both Long Wave and Mr. Blue Sky - are all those missing songs finally going to surface on their own standalone discs or in expanded reissues?
As for Jeff potentially selling off the rights to his catalogue, I can't imagine him doing this so soon after setting up plans for a more permanent estate, unless the board members were established in advance of such a deal being inked.

Hmmm....
I predict the next album in 2023. (2015....2019....2023.)
I predict a "51st" anniversary retrospective in 2022 - which includes a couple of new songs.
I predict no touring in 2022. (Or beyond.)
I predict that the 50th anniversary thread reaches 150 pages by the end of 2022.

Here are some real longshots for Jeff's 2022
1. agrees to be the weekend late night DJ for a local radio station, where he plays hits from before his mother was born 2. goes broke after following advice from a West Hollywood psychic to invest everything in classic rock album art NFTs 3. rescues an Afghan hound from the local shelter and names it Bev 4. tires of LA's endless sunny weather and announces a return to Birmingham thereby sparking rumors of a MOVE reunion. Joy says there is no way she's releasing Bev from his Quill contract.

My take on this is 1.Yes we will get a new album but this will probably be the rest of the hits that haven't been re recorded. 2. Another greatest hits album 3.Jeff will follow what ABBA have done with virtual avatars (only with Jeff on keyboards, drums, etc.) 4.No

My predictions
Jeff will do an interview where he mentions how he wrote MBS, how the Wilbury's came about and how he produced the Beatles
Some complete loon will put acetates of Time double album for sale on eBay but remove them before the auction is completed
Bev's autobiography will be released but he'll be sued for liable after he states that Jeff didn't write all of the hits
A new album of re-recordings will be issued called The Return of Mr Blue Sky. Jeff will play/programme everything apart from one snare drum hit and one piano note which will be recorded by Bev and Richard respectively. It will be released to great publicity claiming that the band is back together. This will happen before Bev's autobiography is released.
Jeff's social media people will continue to post ELO50 bilge until 2025.
A second edition of Wembley or bust, called Extra Time and Penalties will be released featuring one new paragraph from Jeff and 3 new photos

Jeff began putting together his estate a few years ago, with the known beneficiaries including his manager, wife, daughters and at least one person tasked with managing George Harrison's archival releases, which suggests he'll be looking to have his own catalogue handled in a similar way. Not long after, it was claimed that Stephanie apparently gave up her share to instead help fund a business venture, though it's been a while since I saw any updates on what's happening. There's even been recent talk of that house Jeff bought a while back being something he isn't moving into, but has instead already started having demolished. Considering that most of its value came from the ground, he might either be looking to sell this land for redevelopment, or he's planning a bespoke retirement property with recording facilities to a similar spec seen in Posh Studio and Walsh Hall and then Bungalow Palace.

I Have No Expectations...I Think We Will Get A New Album In The Style Of "AITU" and"FOON" In 2022 (And That In The Best Of The Scenarios) I'm Not Expecting Any Tour Or Archival Release Though I Won't Be Surprised If He Decides To Do A "One Night Only Show" But Definitely Not A Big Tour...

I guess we have to face the fact that Jeff's in the twilight (sorry) of his life. Hopefully, he sticks around for a long time, even if he's not actively making music.
