I would say I mostly listen to albums in their original form. Especially with Discovery, that’s the album I think is most perfect as a whole – the quality and enjoyableness of the tracks is spread evenly throughout the LP.
I also almost always listen to Time the whole way through too. I can’t be doing with “greatest hits” style track lists unless it’s strictly chronological. It just sounds too weird going back to '10538 Overture' after hearing ‘Xanadu’. ELO vary so much.
With Eldorado, since I bought the vinyl, I cannot mentally go back to the CD and I always play it straight through. My weakness is putting a CD on and then skipping tracks, not just the weak ones (are there any weak ELO tracks?), according to my whims.

I forgot to mention, my Eldorado is on yellow vinyl , and that makes all the difference. You *can* hear the colour.

I listen to the CDs all the way through in the car but have specific playlists in iTunes of things like all the love songs together or all the rockers together.

There are songs for the car and others that definitely aren't. While I love listening to songs as "Rock n' roll is king", "Hold on tight", "Don't bring me down" or "Rockaria!" in the car, others like "Can't get it out of my head" or "One summer dream" definitely aren't for it. You lose too much of their delicacy, subtlety and multiple layers of sound in the noise of the car. Those songs are only fully appreciated if enjoyed on decent speakers or a good audio device while on an otherwise silent environment.

My cars system is probably better than anything I've got in the house, but I look a bit silly sitting on the drive listening to ELO

I generally play "Time" all the way through, the other ones I tend to skip around for the most part, not as much skipping around on "Eldorado" or "Zoom", though.

The ELO forum owner is ashamed of listening to ELO while driving? If only the two headed monster were present now to give you the spanking you deserve...

You are not like JLN, BSJ! You change and get all soft in Christmas! Well, I guess you got lucky this time, Horace, but I think your treatment should be: next time you drive in your car, pull the windows down at top, play "Last Train to London" or "Shine a little love" at a good volume and sing along. If someone looks at you like thinking "what is this guy...?" you just stare at them and slowly blink an eye. In that way your ELO ashamedness will get cured.
If you could make some shoulder movements like following the rythm it would be even better.

I do play ELO in the car when it's moving Helmut, it's just that it's got a better sound system fitted than I've got in the house. What I was getting at is it would look odd to sit in the car on the drive listening to ELO without the car running or moving
