I do play ELO in the car when it's moving Helmut, it's just that it's got a better sound system fitted than I've got in the house. What I was getting at is it would look odd to sit in the car on the drive listening to ELO without the car running or moving Oh, now I get it. You are right at that. But hey, I suppose you don't turn the stereo off when you are caught by red lights and then when they go green and you can get moving you turn it on again, do you?

It's almost always a mix, heavy on the rare and unreleased, alt takes.
Zoom occasionally gets a full listen. but... Secret Messages, the Double Album, gets "spun" once a month or so. Love it! Thanks to everyone who helped get this amazing project back! Hope it is released on vinyl soon!!!
*A pox on those responsible for chopping down this masterpiece*
On more of a zen note, it *was* like hearing a brand new album after all those years of doing without, just glad the dbl album wasn't lost forever by those in charge of such things. I suspect it had more to do with the title and theme of backward masking in a cultural climate which was very intolerant of that.

I feel bad that I don't listen to Zoom often enough. The whole album is pretty much perfect from start to finish yet I may have only heard it whole once. The reason for this is simple - I like having at least one ELO album fresh and brand-new that I know is waiting for me to discover. Once the next ELO/Jeff album is released I expect it will replace Zoom as my "undiscovered" record but for now I just enjoy seeing Zoom as a record too special to get too familiar with just yet.

Since I listen to most of my music in mp3 form, no, I don't listen to full albums anymore. Unless I get the urge to stick a CD in my car stereo, that is.

Truly I'd put Zoom higher than ANWR (I'm going to regret typing that!). Not so much will power - I get a lot of Zoom-fixes listening to individual tracks. But the full album - that's special. I'm keeping that back for emergencies.

I've just listened to Time. I'd forgotten how much I love it

"Time" is the best ELO album IMO. Not classic ELO sound, but the quality of the compositions is superb.

Eldorado & Time are the only two ELO albums I listen to in full, I think this is down to being a lover of story telling (which modern pop/rock music doesn't bother much with nowadays). Also the interludes and songs referencing previous tracks to make them gel together is just genius!

Listen to ELO on Pandora at work. At home I'll turn on an album side about once a week. And there's normally a ELO CD going in the car. Sometimes I just need to listen to one song about 5-6 times. I've got it covered!

I've had this habit of "cherry picking" from the very beginning, ever since I started buying CDs as a kid. However, I do play my self-compiled mixtapes and their digital successors in correct order.
