Sadly with no chance of getting to see ELO, or any other artist performing live in the forseeable future does anyone have a favourite concert or standout concert and venue they have fond memories of.
My standout concert was Bruce Springsteen at Slane Castle not far from Dublin. The year was 1985 and it was a scorching hot day and a massive crowd gathered ready to enjoy themselves. Slane is a stunning out door venue, with the beautiful back drop of Slane Castle. I remember Bruce started with Born in the USA and the crowd surged forward and the noise never ceased from the beginning until the end. A day I will never forget. Slane has hosted a lot of big concerts with the likes of U2, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Thin Lizzy and Queen to name a few. When concerts eventually do start again I highly recommend going. Dublin is a great city to stay in always great craic and very friendly people.

Couldn't agree more lasttrain929
My favourite memory is in two parts - both featuring ELO PtII
Part 1
It must've been around Spring in 1989 when I noticed a sign, going round a roundabout outside Richmond (the one in London ), for an ELO II gig in the Apollo in Hammersmith. I phoned an old mate who was also a fan. I got the tickets, and we went. That was PtII's first lineup. During the gig, at the start of the sixth song, he jabs me in the side, saying "that's the SIXTH vocalist!" He was just a bit excited
Part 2
At another mate's barbeque during the summer the subject of concerts came up while a group of us were standing around in the kitchen chatting. The ELO II gig popped into the conversation. "What?!", said the others... "Why didn't you tell us?! We'd've gone as well!" Luckily, the band were back in Hammersmith in the Autumn. This time with Phil Bates doing his 'Jeff Lynne' thing. Six of us had a fantastic night - NOBODY in that huge venue was sitting at the end - everyone jumping around to Don't Bring Me Down.

Sadly I never got to see Part 2 in any form. But I enjoyed both albums, ELO part 2 and Moment of truth. Your lucky got to see them , sounds like two cracker nights you had.

I haven’t got any particular stories to go with my favourite concerts but these are a few I remember well.
Duran Duran before they were famous and attracted lots of shouting adolescent girls.
The Ramones, raw energy.
A Flock of Seagulls, bloody loud.
Cyndi Lauper, had to wait for years to see her, I was supposed to go the night daughter number one was born so missed out.

A Flock of seagulls were pretty good too, they shot the video for their song “ the more you live, the more you love” near where I live The Giants Causeway.

I saw The Ramones twice, at their height in 1980 and also in 87.

For me it has to be Jeff Lynne's ELO in Hyde Park, London 2014, totally amazing great day. Then it would be Jeff Lynne's ELO at Wembley in 2017
I was also at the ELO II gig in the Apollo in Hammersmith which, as said above, was as an awesome night. Then it would also be ELO II open air concert with the RPO backing them in Tilgate Park, Crawley, UK.
Finally I would add Queen, 02 London in July 2018

I have so many concert memories. It's hard to choose one because what is the criteria? Is it the whole concert? A moment or song? The venue? The whole day of the show?
I have to go for ELO at Wembley because it ticks all those boxes and more. It was the whole experience. Plus the rainbow was the cherry on top.
ELO at Liverpool in 2016 was also wonderful. I hadn't been that excited since I was sick at the adventure playground aged 5.
Other great moments for me include seeing Procol Harum with full orchestra and chorus in London three times, especially the Royal Festival Hall 2017 show where Gary Brooker fell during the interval but came back for the second half bruised and bloodied and performed better than ever.

I've had a few strong experiences at concerts, like inviting my mom to watch Paul McCartney live as a way to thank her for exposing me to the Beatles since I was a baby, but there is one that stands out above all the rest, which I choose without a doubt as my favourite concert memory.
It was in 2011. Roxette were coming back to the country after 16 years. Roxette is quite big here, they have a very loyal and devoted fanbase among which I proudly count myself. Marie Fredriksson, the singer -who passed away recently- had been diagnosed with brain cancer in 2001. The doctors said there was a very slim chance of survival (about 10%?), and even if she did manage to survive it was almost a fact that she'd never be able to sing again.
Fast forward to 2011 and there she was, on a stage in Buenos Aires, singing to a full stadium that was rocking and pogoing like mad, I'd say the biggest party I've been to. Much of the emotion had to do with the fact that we were planning on never seeing those guys again, so it was kind of living a miracle. You could see the sickness had weakened Marie physically and she had some trouble reaching the higher notes, but when she sang she did it with genuine passion and with a smile on her face, enjoying the moment.
In spite of all the energy that Roxette's music has, the standout moment was "Perfect day", a beautiful sad ballad and fan favourite that she sang. During the song she recived a massive ovation from all the stadium and another one at the end of it. It was pretty strong, knowing all she had been through, and you could see that she was feeling it too. I got a lump in my throat and there were teary people everywhere. It was a very emotional but happy moment.

Sounds like a very emotional night Helmut83 you are very lucky to have seen them, a very good band. It’s great that the audience gave Roxette such a huge reception. I have never seen Paul McCartney or any beatle perform count yourself lucky to have heard such a music legend on stage. Taking your mum was such a thoughtful idea

I had forgotten about the rainbow, that was special...
