A bit rough still, it's like a bad cold but it's all in my sinuses. When Mrs T had it a few weeks ago she started to feel better after the 3rd day (there's an album title somewhere there...) thanks for your concern!

I think this is meant to be a tropical fish, although it looks more like the virus. Get well soon, Timeblue!

Hope you're feeling ok now. I was away over Easter and the place we stayed at had tennis courts etc so I had quite an energetic weekend. I was fine but now the headache's back and I feel so lethargic and lacking in energy so perhaps I was overdoing things a bit!

Thanks Nick, I think it's on its way out now thank god (If this is a lesser variant I wouldnt have liked to have had the original virus.)

Work is my main exposure risk. I rarely shop in stores in person, we order takeout or dine outdoors when we can, and I avoid crowds. I always mask up indoors away from home. I'm vaccinated and double boosted, and I test regularly. Anyone outside our household setting foot in our house has to take a rapid test before getting past the foyer. We don't really have visitors as such anymore in any case. One of my colleagues in the department announced his positive test yesterday, and another one had COVID in February. So far, so good for me. I double mask at work and try to exercise as many of the other precautions as I can. Masks are recommended, but optional, at school now, although about 80% or more of my students and colleagues still mask up inside. We have special air filtration units in each of the classrooms. Social distancing is not possible, but I try to get get good ventilation, too. I'm still dodging the bullet, and I hope to continue that trend. Apart from trying to preserve my own health, I'd be concerned about infecting my husband (who has some health risks) and even worse, my almost 90 year old mother, who lives with us. So, I'm glad to still be COVID-free, but humble enough to know that vigilance is necessary, and that it may still get me anyway..

It finally got me! My wife, daughter and I have just flown back to the UK from Florida and we all tested positive on the last day of our holiday/vacation. Now, I'm not the greatest when it comes to flying but when you add in the most annoying, relentless cough as well, the journey home was not one to treasure! We masked up for so much of our stay and used bucket loads of hand sanitizer but ultimately, to no avail. I would say that the symptoms are indeed relatively mild but it's that annoying cough that sets this out as an illness to avoid.

Hope you and family feel better soon soonerorlater , so they let you fly back positive I’m surprised or did you keep it quiet Well this is where the irony begins. The US Government still insisted that we all had to book on to a video call (with an authorised agency) the day before our outbound flight and take a test each to confirm our negative status. If you can't or won't do that then you're basically not allowed in! However, once in America we felt that there was nowhere near the same level of general vigilance or wariness that we still see here in the UK, particularly in the theme parks. As for the return flight - the UK Government simply no longer requires testing before or after the journey so yes, they literally allow you to fly back positive and I'm afraid that I suspect many fellow passengers were in the same boat, or plane in this case. I can see some logic in that as the alternative would be to wait in America, at our own considerable expense, until all of us tested negatively. That's just not practical and there's plenty of scope for people to play the system and get around it. In the end, when you're not feeling great, you just want to get home. We all tried very hard to minimize risks to others, particularly on the plane but there are no guarantees and that's why (I think) it's taking longer to rid ourselves of Covid than many first thought. Thank you for your good wishes. Oh, and when it comes to Covid I now see an unfortunate irony in my username ( Sooner or later, later, gonna get to you)!!

Yes, I would tell people to stay way from the US. Especially the theme parks. Nephew and family drove down to FLA Disney a few weeks ago and all came back with COVID.

COVID is everywhere, and I know more and more vaccinated and boosted people in my area who have become infected. However, I'm steering clear of Florida for a while. Mitigation efforts there have not been so consistent and strong, in an effort to be "free" and "welcoming" to visitors... Fortunately, at least the large population of elderly residents in southern Florida is well vaccinated. I'm so ready to put this pandemic behind us...
