nickheynes, what an awful situation. Unfortunately someone has to do that work and very few would have the balls to do it, so hats off to you for taking that responsibility on your shoulders. The fact that it hurts you and you keep doing it makes it even more admirable. At the end of the day when the pain has passed a bit I'm sure those people will understand why you are doing it and that you are not really the bad guy but on the contrary, you are protecting them. Thanks Helmut .I hope that when this is over I can start to travel and perhaps get to your country to say hi!!

yes, just a few weeks after he was shaking hands with patients....who could have guessed that!
Talking of depressing things, my brother in law who manages a supermarket got attacked and had his nose broken last week, next he has had to endure being spat at by a care worker. He is quick to try to defend people saying we don't know what they are going through but he admitted today after 30 years of working in retail he is thoroughly fed up .... Thankfully his company is taking both attacks seriously and have resulted in police action.

Our glorious leader has it now .... For a moment there I thought you were talking about Horace... Even so, I'm wishing Boris a speedy recovery - and the same for everyone else who's contracted this dreadful virus.

5 positive things that are happening right now in Ireland. Ronan Keating is doing his bit in these trying times... ' You do it best, when you touch nothing at all'. Ronan's also teamed up with Gary Barlow for a virtual duet.

In these uncertain economic times, not everyone has the resources to do this, but I have decided to use the money that I would normally spend on gasoline (since I'm really not going anywhere) to donate in some way each week/month to encourage or assist health care workers, relieve hunger, or otherwise help others who are facing adversity because of this virus. It's a painless way to for us to do something good, but other families are facing tougher choices than we are at the moment. We might make a larger donation with the relief check we will be getting from the US govt in a few weeks, unless we have to use most of it to pay our taxes this year .

That's a great initiative, eloneen. Unfortunately in my country (world famous for corruption) you cannot donate money to anyone unless you know him personally. For a moment there I thought you were talking about Horace... I’m still ok.......I think My brother, his wife and two kids have all got or just getting over what could be the virus, they have all had the symptoms, high temperature, cough and feeling lethargic. Didn't they call the doctor in order to do the tests?

I spoke to them this morning and they all seem fine, they are all normally in good health and so no reason why they won’t beat the virus, assuming that’s what they have contracted. My brother and his wife seem to be already over the worst of it.

Helmut83 they are only testing for the virus in the U.K. if you get admitted to hospital. Aha, I see. For what I know down here everyone who declares to have symptons takes the test, and if they suspect you have it they might take you whether you want it or not (a bit scary).
