English folk singer Ralph McTell has added a new verse to his well-known song Streets Of London... In shop doorways, under bridges, in all our towns and cities
You can glimpse the makeshift bedding from the corner of your eye
Remember what you're seeing barely hides a human being
We're all in this together, brother, sister, you and I.
Edit 1... This time in our lives touches everyone... rich and poor alike. Here are some images of life under coronavirus: 24 hours around the world in pictures. Edit 2... UK before and after 'lockdown'.

I am Key Worker (UK) working in the bereavement services sector. My Mrs also works in the same sector . I am currently waiting for this to hit my sector. We will see people dying from covid 19 a week or so after they pass away. The NHS looks after our loved one, friends, everyone while they are still alive, still fighting. Not only this virus but at so many other times. We're lucky to have it . BUT the bereavement services sector is there after the fight has been lost. After our loved ones have gone. We pick up the pieces. How can I tell my wife to not let the elderly widow she has formed a bond with not to enter her funeral parlour? How can I tell a young mother not to touch her baby's coffin for fear of transmitting covid 19? I have to .I have to protect my staff, The Funeral Directors. And the families who are still attending funerals. And I'm sorry for swearing but it fucking hurts. We are always there. In the background . Still caring . Looking after the dead . And the living.
Sorry .Had to get that off my chest!!!

We are going through a period of time I don’t think any of us could have predicted, and it is hard. None of us have any experience of anything similar to this at all and we are all learning and adapting fast. nickheynes it must be hard for you to change what you have done naturally with love and care for your entire career, we all appreciate what you, your wife and all the other key workers are doing for us and the community as a whole, you all deserve a medal. Try to keep you chin up and please know we are all thinking of you.

Thank you nickheynes for reminding us of the work your sector is doing and will be doing to make the sad ending of some peoples' stories safe and dignified. When I'm applauding out of the window at 8 tonight I'll be doing it for you too

nickheynes, what an awful situation. Unfortunately someone has to do that work and very few would have the balls to do it, so hats off to you for taking that responsibility on your shoulders. The fact that it hurts you and you keep doing it makes it even more admirable. At the end of the day when the pain has passed a bit I'm sure those people will understand why you are doing it and that you are not really the bad guy but on the contrary, you are protecting them.

I expressed in the shoutbox my admittedly petty annoyance at the disruption (stress and boredom combined) of working from home , but I am actually quite grateful for so many things: 1. My family is safe and well. 2. My job and income are secure. 3. # 1 and # 2 are also true for my husband. 4. To a certain degree, I can work flexible hours. 5. I do not have to work overtime because of increased demand in my work sector. 6. My teenage son is reasonable and mature about all of this, keeping up with his school work, enjoying his video games and a solo skateboard ride every now and then. 7. Our local officials are making wise decisions to keep our community safe. 8. We have enough food and other needed supplies for a good while. It could be a lot worse. Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New York said today "When I get tired, I think of the heroes." Then he mentioned not only the incredibly heroic health care workers, but public safety officers and first responders, grocery and transportation workers, pharmacists, etc., who are basically risking their own well-being and collectively holding society together right now. I would include people like you, too, nickheynes . Heroes indeed!
