I play guitar, piano, bass, drums and harmonica. I do a cover of cgioomh, evil woman and just learned strange magic yesterday! Just a question: in the part of "you're sailing softly throught the sun..." it switches between two chords. One is G and the other one is a C something. From what I've seen everyone seems to play a different chord there. What do you play there? |

You are probably gonna think I'm nuts but I don't know! I am self thought and I hear by ear! My cover should be up soon on a new thread in the Music catagory "Forum Members E.L.O. cover songs" Believe it or not I play in a number of bands and I could'nt tell you what chords I play most of the time! I got myself a new Gibson Les Paul today... I'm not much of a guitarist but I had a crack at Fire On High whiles testing it for the first time. (10min 30sec)

Cool! Congrats on yer baby! I have the '56 gold top meself with the p90 pickups like Jeff, I have an Es335 in cherry Red like Justin hayward and I have a sky blue strat like me!!!! I play fire on high in Am, G and F. All in barchord form.

Really? I remember Bev Bevan in an interview saying that Kelly Groucutt had had a lot of fun recording the basslines of "Last Train to London" and "Shine a little love". The video to the song isn't very clear on this. It makes it look as if Richard Tandy is playing the bass on a keyboard and it's hard to tell what Kelly is playing. The bass riff does have a bit of a synthy tone to it I think. Perhaps there's a mixture of both real and synthesised bass on the track. Just going back over this thread after looking in on Tedblights lil beauty and read this....Richard ghosted Kellys bassline on a moog. Kelly was certainly playing that bass line on LTTL. I lil bit like Jeff playing the moog to the bass line on "turn to stone" however he deviated a tad on the moog. |

I finally checked Led Zeppalot out on YouTube, JLN and you all did great job on my favorite How Many More Times! See you had to get a groupie bring you water!

Apparently it's quite hard to see them with the naked eye, you need to be looking through a camera or other type of lens?
