Only with my vocal chords while showering... then the authorities show up with gag orders, much to everyone's relief.
Evidently the local donut shops simply aren't enough to distract them at all times.

Yeah, I do, with guitar and harmonica. I know lots of ELO songs by heart. At times I even sing along while playing, but very much like Rob, when I do the pets of my neighbourhood start a concert of bellowings, growlings and howlings (at times even roarings) so I take pity on them and stop. I once opened a thread on the old forum asking if people there played instruments, and there were several who did. I had the idea of recording together an ELO song (each one adding his instrument on a different track) but then I realized I haven't got a decent microphone. P.S.: it is false that tedblight plays guitar poorly. I've seen a video of him playing and I got the impression that he plays very well.

It would be good to see some forum members versions on YouTube.
I can't play anything, I did go to a pub in Droitwich many years ago where there was a guy on the piano who could play by ear. I asked him to do Mr Blue Sky and he did an amazing version.

Piano and anything with a keyboard! Stepping Out, being a particular favorite.

You have a great ear, I remember that you figured out "Buildings have eyes" chords and there was this strange chord which was kind of an Fmaj7/E (which was impossible for my ear, I just distinguished an F) and you got it string by string. You can't go wrong with that ear. I'll be looking forward to a cover of yours. Also of yours Nightrider, 88keys and tedblight. Covers, covers, covers!

I play bass and recorder (quite badly) but haven't tackled any ELO songs yet. It never occurred to me to try! I'm planning on purchasing a uke or a guitar soon - ELO tunes being the incentive. At the moment I just sing along waving my arms around semaphore style.

Or it could be recorder as well, there are a few ELO tracks that include similar wind instruments like flute...

One day I hope to learn the bass from 'Last Train to London' or 'When Time Stood Still' but I think most ELO songs are melody rather than rhythm-based. I'm going to try and learn a few melodies on recorder though, even if it's just a few notes.
