Brilliant! I adore The Divine Comedy and would love Neil Hannon even if he wasn't an ELO fan

great new song from Andrew Bird (and it has some ELOish qualities) (trivia fact - his first instrument was violin)

Back in my teen years, I was a big fan of the American proggy band Kansas, and I got to see them live in Baton Rouge in 1979. My parents actually went with me - not that they were fans. They didn't want me going alone at the age of 14, and no one else I knew was interested.
Anyway....
I just watched an excellent documentary about them called Miracles out of Nowhere, after one of their songs from the album Leftoverture. If you're a fan or just curious about them, it was a good way to spend less than 90 minutes and a few dollars on Amazon Prime video. Highly recommended.
Here's the trailer:

I only know Carry On Wayward Son... Dust in the Wind was a huge hit, too, albeit with a very different sound; it's a hauntingly beautiful acoustic masterpiece in my opinion. Point of Know Return is also epic! If you like prog rock with amazing lead vocals, beautiful harmonies, lots of keyboard and guitar virtuosity, and an excellent violinist, too, check out these two songs. You may fall in love with them!

The intro to this Kansas song sounds very ELO-ish to me. This was a single that I remember --catchy, but not one of their very best songs. I still love Steve Walsh's voice, though! One of the great rock vocalists, imho.
They'll be coming to NC in a few days, but several hours away, and at an indoor venue, alas.

this song title sounds like it should be a Jeff tune actually it sounds more like a Harry Chapin song and Father John Misty sounds good singing just about anything

here's a song to kick off the weekend my man, Aaron Lee Tasjan, is going to be touring with Butch Walker and this song has a Duran, Duran reference - fitting for the Commonwealth Games plus Matthew McConaughey adding some cool factor to the video

Ozzy is performing at halftime of tonight’s NFL season opener in LA. 73 years old and people thought he’d lost his mind decades ago. But he’s out there looking like Batman and promoting a new album.
Maybe Jeff will take notice?
Here’s a thought- what if he hired Sharon Osborne as his manager?
