Sound good on first play Helmut, I will have to play it a few times to get the tune into my memory. We are a Apple Mac household and so have GarageBand on the computer, I not too familiar with it but I'm sure I could have a go and try to electronically add some elements to the song, this would be the best way for me as a household we are not musically talented and own no actual instruments. Have you come across GarageBand Helmut? Perhaps you could send me a MP3 of the song, I think I can then drop that into the program. I'm a bit busy this week decorating the bathroom, Mrs Wimp told me that if Jeff tours then Chereene will need some accommodation near Birmingham, I was then straight onto tiding up the room, I'll offer her a cheap rate Once it's done I will have more time to have a play with the song. Hhhmmm, I figure there must be a queue of gentlemen offering theirselves to accomodate Chereene. Take your time, Horace, no need to hurry. Tomorrow I'll send my guitar to calibrate so I won't have it at least for a week, that's why I hurried to record something, but we have all the time in the world. I would also have to re-record a few things. There's a certain frequence range (mid-low) that sounds too overloaded and saturated. But again, I hurried a bit to come up with something to construct over. We can tidy up things later. And no, I'm not familiar with GarageBand. I have Intel and Windows (like most people here) and I use a program to record called "Audacity". As for the mp3 file, I can send it to you or you can directly download it from YouTube (go to mp3fiber.com/ , you copy the YouTube link there and download the sound as .mp3). The ideal thing would be that you sent me whatever you record as a separate file only with your instrument, not already mixed up with what I did, because I'll possibly have to re-record some of my instruments and I want to keep them all as separate tracks (it also allows to treat them and set their volumes separately).

I'll have a play around with it during the week if I've time at work, I've got Audacity I used that to transfer from records to computer, the advantage of GarageBand is it contains loops and instruments I can add to the mix. I'm sure I can add my bits as a separate track and just save that, leave it with me.

Hey Helmut, I made a totally separate thread for sending me songs and I'll put the CD and artwork, etc. together and send everyone the originals they send me. I re-titled this thread "make a song with Helmut", to make the threads distinguishable. If you want to compile the necessary notes from here, and start a fresh thread, that would probably be a good idea, then I can nuke this one, since it's kind of all over the map, to say the least. Just let me know how you want me to handle it, my friend. Seems you owe yourself a fresh thread, so you can zero in on your "make a song with Helmut" project. Jim

I'm doing better than I thought Helmut, so far I've managed to ruin you song by adding thunder, cow moos and dog barking. My next addition will be cow bells, when I'm finished I'll email it to your address on you forum profile, unless you tell me otherwise.

And sorry for derailing yours, I got so enthusiastic about it that I didn't realize. Now, I'll collaborate with your CD with one song. Could my song feature some kind of performance (like voice or guitar) from the one and only Jrmugz?

Well, cow moos was a sine qua non condition for my song, and since BSJ seems to own the bell but not the cow, it's good that you are doing it. And yes, email it to gumork83@hotmail.com (the direction which appears on my profile). But like I said, no hurry. Good artists take their time (just ask Jeff Lynne about his new album).

I must admit I was in stitches while I was doing it, so much fun, I can see why Jeff does it.

Hahaha! Man, you are a freaking genius! That was fantastic. I love how you start ringing the cowbell and after a while the cow moos, like stimulated by the sound of the cowbell. The dog barkings were placed exactly at the right moment, when the song cuts (a bit like "Four little diamonds"). And that piece at the end to close the song... genius, pure genius. Thanks for the contribution. Jeff would be proud. PD: I'll have to reupload it to YouTube so everyone can appreciate our song in it's full, updated brilliance.
