I would imagine a fractured hip would be hugely painful, taking enough painkiller just to feel normal must have meant scarily large doses which was never going to end well. I just hope it was his own decision to carry on gigging and not pressure from management, but it is good to know that when he went it would have been painless according to the account above.

It's all good entertainment, it doesn't cost a penny
