Ok - since it's 'my' thread (in ya dreams!) - at least I started it - I'll respond to a few points.
Privacy: Hey, we aren't discussing the colour of his underwear (hmmm.. makes mental note to research...no, stop it naughty boy!) or speculating on the break-up of his marriages or anything particularly intimate; just basic "public record" info that any rabid keen fan would want to know. I for one would love to know more about his antecedents - as in WHERE did that enormous musical talent come from? I know JL would never do it, but I've always had a desire for a "Who Do Think You Are" episode about him....but there's a world of difference between some simple fan curiosity and the paparazzi chasing Diana down a tunnel at 200km/h.
Birth Certificate: The absence of a middle name on his birth cert is not an indication that he does have one; since the BDM info is filled in shortly after birth at the hospital; many couples have not finalised the middle name (often a MAJOR bunfight between in-laws, grandparents, favourite uncles etc) at that stage. 'Official' naming comes later (at least for Christians) at the christening. It is no coincidence that both JL and RW have no middle name on their BDM paperwork, it is quite common.
Hats off to Timeblue for coming up with "Laredo"
It's also possible that JL came up with the L when pressed by 'Merican officials to conform with their forms.... in which case it stands for "leave off!".
You had better praise Horace Wimp too on his suggestion of Lord Damey if you don't want the women on here to be offended......hehe

I think it's actually just a select few of the ladies. I do not count myself among them, thank you Timeblue and babyzoomer!

Hang on, is it Jose? (Oh say) ? Genius!!! I knew one of the Welshies would get it! Congrats to you, clever Uno! ♪♫ Jose, can you see... ♫♪ Wow, Helmut83 bach, they've named the next hurricane after you (?) That would make a great Jeff-type weather song - Mr Hurricane. (Upgraded from Turn To Storm... )

They should have named it Edward after my young nephew. I've never known a human being so similar to a hurricane as him.
Wasn't there a hurricane Edward once?

*still considering Damey's underwear, wearing dreamy face* I must second, third and fourth babyzoomer's suggestion that we should see a "Who Do You Think You Are" episode about Mr Lynne, I bet it would be very interesting. But I suspect it would take wild horses to drag the man himself into something like that.

Helmut83 There was a hurricane in 1980 named Edward, (Cat. 3 and 4 when it hit), a Cat. 4 hurricane in 1996 named Edouard, and there is a 1997 song "Hurricane Edward" (that I'd never heard of) by a group called The Fall. I found this online just now.

If only someone British would infiltrate the official US Department Of Hurricane Naming, and get them to call the next one Hurricane Higgins.
This would raise a few smiles among British sports fans, especially if this particular storm finished off the port...

Thanks eloneen. I thought there had to have been one named Edward (or similar) already, the name is too common and also it sounded familiar.
