OK, better late than never. Looks like I know a fair few of these tracks already but it will be interesting to see how they hang together. Here goes...
Hooked On A Feeling - Very 1970's sounding but the chanting sounds bolted on and a bit odd. Chirpy enough though
Go All The Way - Oho, not the song I thought it would be, it's quite lightweight and doesn't do a whole lot for me I'm afraid. Carries on the classic 1970's vibe, if anyone remembers The Dooleys I'd expect them to come up with something like this.
Spirit In The Sky - Hello, my old friend! Great guitar sound, warbly backing vocals and clap-along beat, best song so far.
Moonage Daydream - Straight away you know it's Bowie, it does't stand out particuarly for me but then I'm not a huge fan.
Fooled Around And Fell In Love - Catchy chorus, I'll be humming this all night now.
I'm Not In Love - Utter classic, apparently its first incarnation was with a bossanova beat which kind of boggles the mind. Deliciously layered with quirky lyrics. Up there with Spirit in the Sky for me.
I Want You Back - Perfect pop song, great performance by a hugely talented group.
Come And Get Your Love - Like the twangy guitar in the chorus, can imagine this going down well at the school disco in about 1975.
Cherry Bomb - Is this a girl group or a high pitched boy one? I'll plump for girls but I think they're trying a bit too hard. Calm down, dear!
Escape (The Pina Colada Song) - Yes, I know it's cheesy but it's clever too, I've always liked it. Nice one, Rupe
O-O-H Child - Pleasant background music but not much more for me.
Ain't No Mountain High Enough - I was expecting the Diana Ross version, but this is a nice alternative with a northern soul vibe. Great way to close the album with a smile.
I found this very nostalgic, not the sort of music I have in my collection but I heard it all the time when I was growing up. Thanks for the time travel experience, Chippa, I feel about 13 again
