According to those in the know, on social media, Louis is in intensive care with acute kidney failure.
Thoughts and prayers to Louis and his family.

This is horrible news, but he's getting intensive care so has the best chance to pull through. Wishing him all the best, sending out positive thoughts.

You know what? I certainly think Louis doesn't get the accolade he deserves for the string arrangements? In fact I will go further to say I don't think ELO would have sounded the way we all love without him? Louis is brilliant. I think Lord Damey has miss treated a lot of very talented people over the years....poor Mr. Groucutt for example. ..

I always got the impression (and I may be completely wrong 'cos I don't know him have never met him or anyone who has met him) that for all his humbleness Jeff is a bit of a hard hearted person, doesn't suffer "fools" or anyone else gladly, possibly uses people and their talents to further his own endevours and never forgets and never forgives. Having said all that, the world of music (actually ,not only music) is littered with such casualties, if we can call them that. It may have been that before they joined ELO the ex band members were told by Jeff "this is my band and don't you forget it" And I still love Jeff and his music. So there!!

"Gloria Bentley Clark (Louis' wife) reports doctors expect a full recovery with minimal damage, if any. It's a miracle!!! Prayers work!!!"

Glad to be the bearer of good news, Uno - I just hope this person has the right information. (I don't think they'd use Mrs Clark's name if they were just guessing though.)

Here's the official update from The Orchestra's website:
February 2015
Louis Clark In Hospital
Louis Clark was admitted to hospital on Friday 13 Feb 2015 with acute kidney failure and blood pressure problems. He is still in intensive care and is undergoing various tests. Our thoughts are with Lou and his family for a speedy recovery.
Update (1)
21 Feb 2015. It's been an anxious week to say the least when Lou suffered heart failure problems last weekend. Doctors put Lou into a coma and are now in the process of bringing him round. Gloria, Lou's wife, said yesterday that "Lou's now breathing on his own again and has opened his eyes a few times. I asked him to squeeze my hand and he did". Lou is not out of the woods just yet but things are looking better than they did midweek. Lou's family would like to thank everyone for their support and kind wishes during these difficult times for them.
Update (2)
22 Feb 2015. Great news today on Lou's health. Lou's wife Gloria has said "We've been told by the doctors that they expect a full recovery for Lou with minimal damage if any and that it's nearly a miracle. We can hardly believe it. He's awake and so happy to see us". She thanks everyone for their prayers and good wishes.
