And another one: Adrian Belew (yes, the one from "King Crimson") was definitely in a Jeff Lynne mood as he wrote and recorded that one:

And a third one: Roger Joseph Manning Jr. (formerly "Jellyfish") with many of his tracks, for example that one (especially when the backing vocals set in after 1:42 till the end):

Whoa, Mr Belew! Hear a little Move in there as well.

The "Time"/Secret Messages"/"Balance of Power" sound is very evident on this song.

Oh dear. Putting the vocoder on it was really a step too far.

Phil Bates' roleplaying as Jeff Lynne really has gotten out of hand.

Have you guys heard this before? Sounds awfully familiar from 2:10 onwards.

That's one hell of a find! Damn! I wonder if that is pure coincidence, an intentional reference or something deeper we don't know about.

Considering how equally strange the middle of Hello My Old Friend is, I'm convinced that Jeff at least subconsciously referenced this when he was writing his own song... What a catch!

This doesn't come as a surprise to me because I've always loved Hey, St Peter, so I've always been aware of those similarities. Maybe, both Lynne and Flash And The Pan were inspired by Kashmir (Led Zeppelin)?
