Well deserved. I don't know if the Songwriter's Hall of Fame ceremony is like the RRHOF ceremony, but if so I'm all in on a Jeff Lynne-Snoop Dog performance.

Where is this 'hall'? Can we visit it? Not like the RRHOF where there is an actual place to go,this is just an event that this year will be held in New York. Tickets start at $2000 (and the inductees are not guaranteed to turn up) Just reading about who missed out this year, big names such as Blonde and Steve Winwood not inducted. This to me seems a shame when Sade (remember her from the 80s?) are included. Each to their own I guess....

Hubby and I saw her performing in our area in 2011 on the Soldier of Love tour. I got an amazing deal on tickets from Groupon, and it was Hubby's birthday gift. It was a wonderful show, with John Legend opening for Sade. We had fantastic seats, too, for her set. Members of her crew went up into the nosebleed seats (where we were, with our deeply discounted Groupon tickets) after John Legend's set, and gave away unsold floor seats to randomly chosen people. We were among the lucky ones. We were seated in the center of the ninth row in the center section, among some very serious fans, for sure. My youngest brother is still a huge Sade fan and had a terrible crush on her for as long as anyone can remember. We made sure to call him from our great seats and rub it in that we were at a Sade concert, seated close enough to the stage to see her freckles! We didn't have a camera on our phones, but we called him again while she was singing so he could hear it. Hubby said it was one of the best birthday gifts ever.

Perhaps I was being a little facetious and I apologise for that but I think my point still stands. Steve Winwood, Chris Stein and Debbie Harry in my opinion are far more deserving than Sade. Even songwriters such as George Harrison have not been inducted, is Sade more deserving than him?

Harrison and Winwood are not in this Hall? Just shocked.

Timeblue I actually have no opinion whatsoever on who should be inducted. I was just commenting that Sade is not a "has been" from the 1980s as she is still very much an active artist today. That's all.
