Hello everyone, Currently, we are talking with archivist Rob Caiger about the future of vintage ELO unreleased material. As he described, the tapes are degrading and it would be great to see all of it out there in the future. He has asked us to come to you, the fans, to get an idea of what your "appetite" is for what you would like to hear. If you can try to be specific, what would you want to hear? (e.g. demoes, outtakes, alternate versions, studio sessions, etc.) The more specific, the better. Also feel free to elaborate on why you chose with you chose. It would not be fair to promise that this will actually lead to something, but Rob showed lots of passion, and we as a group feel the same. So this feels like it is worth the effort and your opinions can help us try and figure out a plan. Onward we will try to go! Please share your thoughts here or you can private message us, which ever is best for you. Cheers from the Acetaters Could you give a little background on who you (the Acetaters) are, and how you could make releases like this happen? Are you a record company, or do you have record company connections? Personally, I would be very interested in any previously unreleased material. Preferably not "tagged on" to old studio albums, but released separately, so you don't have to buy songs you already have again. I assume they are private collectors.

I'd love some live material from the 80's and also a full Time album would be great...a remastered Xanadu would also be cool

I am a huge fan of the 70's music. Preferable from Eldorado on. Outtakes and alternate versions would interest me. But more than that, anything that is unreleased.

Due to the sheer number of labels involved, it's never been possible to negotiate for anything except the most basic of reissues for that soundtrack, and it looks as if her camp finally ran out of patience. With this in mind, providing their work still ends up going ahead, I wouldn't hold your breath for much new from the ELO side of things.

Original stuff. All I want to hear is songs Jeff Lynne wrote and we never got to hear about because he thought them too bad to be on albums or even as single B-sides. Having in mind how good some of his least valued songs were for me, why not think that I'd find a few of the ones he discarded good too?
I don't mind much if the quality of the recording is very raw (as raw as him recording something on a cassette recorder at home) or if it was properly recorded and produced in a studio only to be discarded after. I don't care either if he didn't finish it and the recording is very short. As long as it's original material Jeff wrote in the '70s and '80s I'm interested in it.
I don't care about alternate versions, remasters, etc... and probably wouldn't bother giving them a listen.

I'm interested in any unreleased Jeff/ELO things...especially studio recordings...what about those unreleased songs from the late 60s/early 70s, that appeared as acetates on ebay some years ago...

I would be interested in everything from demos, alt versions, unreleased tracks, live tracked esp a whole a Time Tour and Bakance Of Power concert, double album versions of Time and Secret Messages as planned but please put all the bonus material on a separate CD and from the same period so none of this recent silliness of bonus live material in a studio album and a studio track on a live album. Why not do a 3CD per album, CD1 the original album, CD2 outtakes/ double album tracks, etc and CD3 live concert from the album period or live tracks from that particular album

I think the better question is "what has he got?" that he's allowed to release

A very good friend of mine "goindowntorio", who isn't active on this forum asked me to write the following... "as a collector of everything jeff lynne / elo for a VERY long time ... anything and everything would be more than welcome .... the more the merrier ... I have been waiting (and hoping) for news like this since TIME began! (sorry about that!) ... Yes please, Jeff ... I'll take the lot ... and don't spare the horses!"

Apparently there was enough material recorded during the Balance of Power sessions to fill a couple more CDs/vinyls, so anything from that would be great. I’d also like to see the Time double album, l and some decent concert footage from the Time tour. Thanks 😊

It would be nice to have a double album of TIME with the missing tracks on it.
As far as outtakes and demos on a seperate CD I only see that coming to fruition specifically for The More Die-Hard collectors as well as the private afficianados as an exclusive bonus item to be bought over the net.
Back in the day the only record company that did was Capitol Records when they released some unreleased material from The Beatles. It wasn't until The Anthology albums came in 1995 did the rest of the Bootlegs OFFICIALLY got put out.
Now if there was a chance of getting my hands on the rest of the tunes from Long Wave that was part of a sampler disc. I say go for that too.
Nothing should go to waste.
