Jeff confirmed back in December that he’s working on a new album, which probably means he’s made significant progress on it if he was ready to make that statement. Given his trend in the last 8~ years, an autumn release seems likely, with a late summer announcement/reveal.
This was just posted with the “looking eyes” emoji, which is often used when somebody is teasing something on social media. Perhaps a hint??
July 2022 might be the 50th anniversary of when Jeff took over leadership of ELO, and I've no reason to doubt the possibility of that cryptic post being a hint of something coming soon, especially as we'd previously been told there was new material in the cards, but the image itself dates back to the AITU promotional cycle. My guess is that it's obscure enough for Jeff and his team to hope nobody will make the connection, so perhaps this is being repurposed into helping market another studio project or maybe even a tour?
"I can dream of flying high Above the city's cares and never be afraid of anyone 'Cos there ain't no one there."
Like ShardEnder says it’s an image from AITU era, think it was also in the tour programme, but it’s weird why it has been posted now with the comment they made.
I think the image indicates that Jeff is collaborating with Alan Parsons - an Eye in the Sky, so to speak. Pyramids are very much a prog design staple.

Ironically, before 1982's Eye in the Sky, The Alan Parsons Project did release an album titled Pyramid (stylized as Pyr△mid) back in 1978!
It is a concept album centred on the pyramids of Giza. At the time the album was conceived, interest in pyramid power and Tutankhamun was widespread in the US and the UK. Pyramid was nominated for the 1978 Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical.

It would be lovely, but I doubt that this collaboration would be in the works: Pyramids and lots of other Egyptian references and symbols are a part of Earth Wind and Fire's history...

Maybe Jeff is collaborating with them!

Spaceship over a pyramid? Perhaps Jeff is planning a gig at The Louvre? Or at that Vegas resort with the pyramid?
hopefully it's a tease for something real: album, tour, ...
Glastonbury live album?
Did he play on the Pyramid stage? But a live album from this incarnation of ELO is not interesting to me, I would rather have archival live releases from the 70's.
eloneen: My mother was expecting more drama, more darkness, more changes. Instead, it looked like a quicker than normal transition from sunny skies to dusky skies in mid-afternoon, then a return to sunny skies. After all the hype on TV, she was disappointed.

eloneen: I saw the total eclipse in 2017, about 4 hours west of where I live. This year's partial eclipse was not as dramatic, but still quite extraordinary.

Timeblue: Did you all see the lights go down?
Apr 10, 2024 10:30:04 GMT
eloneen: Not entirely, but we saw the streetlights turn on, which was cool.

Horacewimp: Did you get the eerie silence when the birds stop singing because they think night has come early
Apr 12, 2024 15:19:22 GMT
eloneen: I thought I heard birds singing the way they do early in the morning. We didn't get complete coverage, so it was probably a little confusing when it got a bit darker and then brightened up again fairly soon after.

BSJ: We were able to enjoy the full eclipse from our backyard. Unbelievable experience. A hush stillness was felt. It became dark during the few minutes of full coverage. From when we first started to see the sliver of moon sliding over the sun, to the end, 2hr

eloneen: Agreed. The total eclipse experience is amazing, and I'm glad I was able to see one.

Timeblue: Just a word on the middle east crisis, I pray to god that this doesn't escalate as some have predicted. I fear this situation could be serious in the coming days.....

eloneen: Anyone else trying to enjoy the lights from the solar storm this weekend? I haven't tried hard enough, but that's what Saturday nights are for, right?

Horacewimp: I looked a few times last night but couldn’t see anything, we do have bad light pollution here.

eloneen: My husband and son were up, trying to look up a good location nearby where there would be enough darkness to see what there was to see. Alas, at 3 AM, there was little interest in driving 30 or so miles to see some pinkish light in the sky.I just slept.

eloneen: Friday night was better in this area, apparently, but we missed it. Oh, well! As a consolation prize, we can hear the cicadas screaming. I've read that local police got calls about possible " alien invasion" it was so loud in some areas.

orioles70: I was in Raleigh the last couple of days and wondered what the weird UFO noise in the distance was. Turned out that the cicadas weren't in my sister's neighborhood, but were close enough to hear.

Timeblue: Here in Yorkshire, the lights were supposedly easily viewable but I popped out a few times around midnight and although it was a clear night, there were no lights..
May 12, 2024 18:07:19 GMT
eloneen: In case you haven't had the pleasure of enjoying the lovely song of the cicadas this year, this is what they sound like! Enjoy! youtu.be/MLhd6uJ3XPk?si=A0UmnhgXHWAVtHlx

unomusette: Waah, that would be quite testing after a while We didn't see any lights, but Mr Musette's friend went up onto the cliffs nearby and got all sorts of brilliant pics, and that's looking south. I think you only see the full glory of it through a camera?
May 13, 2024 21:05:59 GMT
BSJ: Being in the wilds of Ohio, we saw no lights, or the sound of cicadas.
