Hello forummates!
We'll be playing an ELO themed drawing and guessing game on internet website Skribbl, and you, being a member of this forum, are invited.
NEW GAME!!!
The game will take place on Thursday 11th August 2022, 8 p.m. UTC 0. This means:
- 9 p.m. British time
- 5 p.m. Argentina and Eastern Brazil
- 4 p.m. US Eastern time
- 3 p.m. US Central time
- 2 p.m. US Mountain time
- 1 p.m. US Pacific time
The logic of the game is that one person will have to pick one of three options (typically names of songs, albums, or ELO-related people and objects) and draw it on a whiteboard (writing is not allowed!), while the rest of the participants try to guess what it is. All participants will have their turn to draw. Points are given to participants according to whether they guess or not, and how early they guess. At the end of full 3 rounds of drawing, the person with more points is the winner, and the whole standings table is displayed. During the game there's also a written chat where you can talk to the other participants, to comment on drawings or make jokes.
There's only one rule: the "ONE LETTER RULE". This means the person who is drawing is allowed to draw (write) only one letter per drawing. You are not allowed to write more letters than that, as it kills the spirit and the fun of the game. Even if no one guesses, it doesn't matter, it's part of the game (writing is not).
The names of the songs should be written with no apostrophes, commas or characters other than letters. So, for example, livin' thing should be livin thing, or Julie don't live here should be Julie dont live here or julie dont live here (it's not case sensitive).
To be able to play this game you don't need to download or install anything; your internet browser is enough. It is strongly encouraged, however, to play using a regular mouse (not the pads that laptops have); and the game doesn't work well on cellphones either, so computers are best for it.
The game will last approximately one hour. You may join late, leave early or anytime you like while the game is on.
The link to join the game will be provided that day, a couple of minutes before the set time, on this thread. After you introduce your username and select your avatar, you'll be taken to a waiting room with the other users connected. When it's 8:00 UTC0 the game will start.
