Thanks unomusette, buried Bibbles this evening and will buy a plant tomorrow to put near her, daughter number two is a bit upset as she was her pet, Bibbles although small had a great personality which we will remember she had a good life for a hamster and was just over two years old.

Thanks, Uno. Strange as it may seem, it actually made me feel better to get definitive proof that the woman checked all of the boxes needed to be considered an idiot. I mean, I was unfortunate enough to come accross an idiot that probably did the same thing to who knows how many pets... it's not that it was a good vet who did it. Now I now I should have no remorse in doing everything within my reach to let people know (write reviews in Google, tell relatives and friends, etc...) that in that clinic they beat pets.
Yeah, poor Pokey, as soon as we came back home I gave her a good piece of that cat tidbit (salmon flavour) that they sell at the vets shops as a compensation for what she had to suffer. She loves it.
And yes, there is an entity where vets are registered to which you could file a complaint. I'll search for it on the internet and see if doing it is reasonably accesible.

Helmut83 What the vet did was terrible. If it had happened to my Barney I’d have had no hesitation complaining immediately to the person in charge of the clinic, contacting the RSPCA and maybe even the police as it is certainly cruelty.
I am very sorry for your distress and I know I'd feel exactly the same. Getting the word out on social media is often said to be a good way of alerting fellow pet owners to the incident but sending written letters to those at the top is recommended too. Whatever her excuses were for what she did, her handling of the incident is certainly unprofessional and upsetting for both you and Pokey at a time when you least needed the distress.
All my best to beautiful Pokey
Horacewimp I'm terribly sorry about little Bibbles. It’s always a sad time when a fuzzy family member passes away.

Thanks for your kind words, Queen! Yeah, I felt like that. The funny thing is that the person in charge of the clinic was this lady herself. She got mad when I told her she had hit my cat. I think she needed someone telling her.

Sad news here. This afternoon my beloved cat Pokey has passed away. Unfortunately she caught a lung cancer which evolved really fast and we discovered too late, just a couple of months ago, when there was nothing left to do other than make the rest of his life as good -or bearable- as possible, which we did. These past couple of weeks, however, she got worse because liquid had gotten into her lungs and she breathe in a very agitated way. She was suffering more than she was living, so we had to take her to the vet and put her to sleep. She was 17 years old, I don't think she would have lived much longer anyway, but what the hell, it's always sad when that moment comes.

Oh Helmut I'm so sorry about Pokey. I know how sad it is to lose a special friend, at least you had time to give her that extra special love at the end.

Really sorry to hear about Pokey, Helmut83 bach. It's never easy when you lose a family member. "There are two means of refuge from the miseries of life - music and cats." - Albert Schweitzer

So sorry, Helmut83. Is there another pet that will miss her? Yeah, there's Chula, another female cat -younger- who was kind of a follower of Pokey (Pokey was the leader). She looks quite lost and disoriented since yesterday, the poor thing. She'll have to learn to be her own leader and be friends with the other cats from the neighbourhood from now on.

Hey, guys, thanks a lot for your messages of support. As vlogdance says, pets are family members and when they die you quite feel it. Thanks again!

This is such sad news Helmut83, I know how much Pokey meant to you Was it Pokey who joined you on that video earlier in the year? 17 years is a most respectable age for a kitty, shows what good care you took of her. You and Chula can look after each other until the day when Chula realises she can become the leader and you'll be back in your place as second in command. Best wishes and comiserations to both of you

Was it Pokey who joined you on that video earlier in the year? Yes it was! What a good memory you have, it was that contribution to tedblight 's version of Mr. Blue Sky. She was wandering around there and I held her and showed her to the camera. Thanks for your kind words as well, Uno! I know you are a cat lover too so you understand me. That's the good thing about this site, there's a lot of that British tradition of pet lovers around so I feel at home here.
