Hey, maybe I would have made a terrible lady, but if I had been you and Camelia had insisted so much in how Jeff loved me I think I would have attempted a hit on him there and then. I think you missed a chance there, girls. In front of his lady? That's awfully bold... for shame, Helmut83! nobodyschild GrroosssHaha, I was thinking that it looked like you both got similar photos to mine from a different angle, nice shots! I don't know how you two held it together after Camelia's comments, I would have been a blubbering mess the rest of the night! What a kind lady she is to share that insight with you, as well. The Beatlesque exit sounds exciting! I am also intrigued that this was not the last installment, you have me on the edge of my seat!

Terribly sorry for the drawn out wait and my general absence from the forum—school, tennis, and marching band season have all sprung ferociously into action so it’s been pretty grueling and busy for me. I know it’s not the climax of our story, but it is the ending and every story needs one of those. So, without further ado, the close of our Chicago adventure:
We said our thank-you’s and goodbyes; “See you again maybe,” Emilie said, and I could have sworn her smile was accompanied by a wink. And then the door shut, she and the inside world of the arena were gone; the sound of cars on the street and the presence of people on the sidewalk around us pushed their way back into my awareness, the slight night breeze, the streetlights brightening the pavement, and the sensation of returning to their world. Everything had seemed to hang for a moment, like we had been in a bubble suspended in the air before coming down and popping, leaving us on the ground, the pavement solid beneath my shoes. I stared at the door a moment longer, then we turned and slipped in to join the crowd, like the tide rejoining the ocean, and that was that.
I think I speak for both of us when I say that all of this was the best (and completely craziest) thing that’s ever happened to us, and definitely something we’ll carry with us forever. Here we are almost two months later, still talking about it, haha! We’ve also really gotta hand it to Jeff and the band for putting on such a great tour this summer...but mostly to Jeff for doing this whole meet and greet thing. Of course this story also wouldn’t be complete if I never publicly said all my thanks: to Emilie, to Craig, to Jeff, Johannes, Camelia, everyone who put all this together. It’s amazing in and of itself but it’s extra amazing considering all the extra work they did to accomodate us (er—me, the under 18 guest). They really pulled out all the stops, letting me come and including our dad in all the backstage stuff, giving him his own swag bag, squeezing him into a seat near the front for the concert, and signing my album and then sending us Zoom on vinyl as promised. Every single one of the people we met that day were so incredibly kind and just lovely to us and it’s all made such a huge impact on my life. I hope they tour again soon—we’ll be there, waving from the front row.

Thank you both so much for sharing your wonderful adventure with us! I knew you would represent us and the rest of Jeff's fans well. I hope we all get another chance to see our hero and his band again. I'm sure when Jeff thinks about that evening he can't help but smile!

nobodyschild and Grroosss , Thanks ever so much for a wonderful report on meeting Jeff Lynne. Most of his fans wish they could have been in your place, but your lively, well-written account helped us feel as if we were experiencing the day with you.

What an evocative way to write the ending of this epic tale, we were all there with you on the pavement as the bubble slowly melted away. I bet Jeff is looking out for you in the front row at all his gigs from now on

The sisters made it into Jeff's year end video montage. I snapped a screen grab of them as they flashed by.
