dillwyn I just watched the video and I have to say that I'm less impressed than ever... Legos?...really? Thanks! I'll have to share this info with my Sheeran-fan students.

Absolutely, I couldn't agree more. It's disgusting, and from a musical point of view it's as cheap as they come. The fact that that song went to be a world-wide hit is the ultimate proof that these days the ones who make it are not the talented artists but the ones whom the musical industry pulls down our throats. interestingly this came up on my Facebook feed today ... and i thought of both your comments .... how shape of you was written www.facebook.com/nytimes/videos/1956300061254173/Thanks for sharing. They speak about it as if it they were talking about the Beatles writing "A Day in the Life".

Thanks for sharing. They speak about it as if it they were talking about the Beatles writing "A Day in the Life". The video on youtube has had 3.1 Billion views, for such a slight production it is amazing the reception it has had. The melody line over the top of it is very good though, percussive and smart (i accept it is very calculated)...

One of the many things which annoy me about E. Sheeran is the way he produces loads of different versions of a song, with different guest artists for example, so he can make even more money. I'm sure he's a nice person though - I do try to remember this about artists whose music annoys me, such as Bruce Springsteen, they probably give lots of money to charity and help old ladies across the road. Well there are many artists that I would like to see donate their kidneys - both of them, and the sooner the better!

Give yourself a couple of days more and you'll be an Ed Sheeran fan. Those numbers tell me nothing in terms of quality. It is just 3.1 billion sheep, people who can't think for themselves, who can't filter because they don't have a personal musical criteria and will consume whatever the industry tells them they should consume.

no not sure I will ever like it that much but it occupies that same MEH space of musical taste (beyonce/justin insert name here) ...not for me but it is interesting about what passes for massive acceptance. This is pretty light weight isn't it

Well here's a thing....I've finally been stirred into action by the original post about Toto's new song, Spanish Sea. I had to have a listen to this awful insult to the art of modern recording and - I think it's fantastic!! I'm no great fan of theirs but this is on the right side of quirky with some interesting musical elements flowing through it. No sorry, I think it's really good. Thanks for putting me on to it !!
Ed Sheeran mind you, utter drivel......

Oooh, when I'm in work I always walk around Cardiff Bay during my lunch hour to get my step count up, so the lego exhibits will enliven the trudge Unless E. Sheeran is part of it
