I have to ask, Horace. What is an OAP?

orioles70 OAP means "old age pensioner" if I understand correctly.

Jeff missed a few lines and was out of tune occasionally but we expect this, He thought he knew the words, but the tune was quite absurd and out of key...

Great photos HW and by my reckoning I was just in front of you - Block B, Row C. That means I was one of those in the front three rows probably not demonstrating enough enthusiasm!!
I have mixed feelings about this standing up at a concert malarkey, especially when you've laid out over £250 for a couple of 'seats'. My positioning for the show was incredible - I was in the exact centre, right in front of Jeff (photos to come when I've taken a few more from the back on Friday and Saturday, hopefully) and I was extremely grateful that the person in front of me and the person in front of them remained resolutely in their seats until MBS. It's a bit like being on a plane. I get really annoyed if the seat in front of me reclines so consequently I never do it to the person behind me. I do stand at concerts and sometimes I like to do so but at 6' 3" I'm conscious of blocking the view of people behind me. In the old days you were allowed to stand and jig a little in the aisles but Health & Safety have put an end to that one.
A great show and I shall never forget Jeff delivering my all time favourite ELO song (Standin' In The Rain) just a few feet right in front of me - a truly special moment. Like others have mentioned though, the show is in danger of becoming repetitive. Over on the Showdown FB page you face being ostracised for saying that. 'We should just be grateful that he's still touring and lots of people who would love to go can't etc, etc'...and I get that but I'm afraid that there's a lot of heritage acts (as you might call them) who are now doing big and expensive shows as they head for a lucrative (and entirely justified) retirement. Expectations are rightly high. Let's hope that there is a new album on the way as I'm sure he can't resist yet another spin of the touring wheel and he would need to introduce new material. Whatever happens, I'll still be there, probably sitting down!!

We were Block B Row D seats 6 and 7 so you were probably just a bit to our left, when I looked behind most people were up on their feet it just seemed like the first 3-4 rows the majority stayed seated. It didn’t affect the overall concert and we probably got a better view sitting down.

soonerorlater I would think that there is enough well-loved ELO material that's not part of the current set list that they could mix things up a bit, even without a new album, and without lengthening the show. For example, just switching out some of the current songs for one or more of these: Boy Blue, Strange Magic, Tightrope, Sweet is the Night, Hold on Tight, Secret Messages, Four Little Diamonds, Rock and Roll is King, Calling America, So Serious, etc. I don't think they'd lose the casual fans with a few changes, but I know that they would delight some of the more dedicated fans. Of course, that requires additional rehearsals. Most of us in the US were tickled to see our first ELO show in decades (or ever), but, as great as it is, I think they could add a little more variety for the UK fans who keep coming back year after year now.

Horacewimp, it's just my groupie ninja training in stealth! What are the chances for this? I would love to know what the connection those restaurants have to Toledo, or our surrounding area. I don't drink pop so I have no clue if Hire's is still made or where. Will look around. You had excellent seats H W! Very good photos No selfies? I'm not happy being made to feel self-conscious about sitting. I did sit during some songs, but there was no way you could get me not to stand for the majority of them. I'd like to know when this became a problem?

Just got back from another great ELO. concert night, brilliant performance and lightning, roll on the next tour. Had the village idiot next to us, 46 year old with his lovely mum, he however wasn’t lovely very drunk and loud, thankfully he spent most of the time away at the bar and toilet, when he did return security kept a close eye on him. Also said hello to starlight again, by the way I don’t keep changing wives tonight I was with my wife’s friend

Horacewimp I'm sorry to hear about the obnoxious drunk next to you, how irritating! I guess that's one time where it's a good thing he was at the bar a lot, since he was away from you. Rowdy drunks at concerts are the worst. I got clunked in the head with a beer bottle once, but that wasn't at the ELO show, thankfully.

I've heard that one before....lol Never get why folk pay so much money to listen and watch a gig and spend so much time being distracted by whatever means and spoiling it for others. Good to chat after again Horace!

I agree with Timeblue , ROB is kind of over-rated. "Kind of"? Oh, all right. Mostly then.
