You would hope so, but unfortunately whenever he's interviewed they always ask the same old questions aimed at casual fans which we've heard the answers to a million times "What did it feel like working with George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty?"...

Perhaps one day when Jeff is old and grey and sat in his rocking chair on the porch of Bungalow Palace, we will hear his take on Bev,Kelly,Time and all those other little things we fans have been wanting to know about...

I'm not so sure. He seems to cherish his privacy. I'm thinking he'll keep all of that information to himself until he departs this life, and maybe someone will do some research, uncover some juicy details and write a book or two about it all then, unless there are legal restrictions even at that point. I'm not holding my breath on that.

But have in mind elderly people usually have verbal incontinence (let's not talk about the other kinds, please) and tell everything, at times things they have been hiding all their lives. So maybe if Jeff reaches that state we'll know a lot about Bev, Kelly, Time and all those little things.
Not dying to hear about those subjects either. What I'm always more eager to hear Jeff talking about is how he wrote his songs, where he took inspiration from, this chords change or that cadence, etc... and unfortunately we have very little about that, except the tale of when he was in Switzerland, the sky went clear and he wrote his wonderful masterpiece Mr Blue Sky.

I'm not suggesting that "verbal incontinence" was to blame, but Kelly opened up quite a bit when it came to his departure from ELO nearer to the end of his life. I've heard from quite a few people who spoke to him off the record, usually after shows with The Orchestra, and it seems that he deeply regretted ever pursuing legal action (at the advice of his manager, Peter Kuys). Sure, the guy was in a bad financial situation by the end of 1982, though going after Jet was never going to work considering how close the Arden empire was to a financial collapse that was accelerated when their former senior accountant went to court, alleging he'd been physically beaten and turned into a scapegoat for the company's years of declining fortunes. Once this avenue seemed fruitless, he turned on Jeff and subsequently burned any remaining bridges within the group - I'd also been told that he was only accepted into Part II once Bev realised most fans weren't open to the idea of the band continuing on with an entirely fresh line-up of singers. By contrast, Jeff has openly said very little about his former colleagues, preferring to stick with the handful of subjects he'll allow most interviewers to ask him about, and even the most casual of enthusiasts must be tired of the stories regarding Mr. Blue Sky, his producing The Beatles or helping establish the Traveling Wilburys by now. Unfortunately, I'm currently learning the hard way just how much resistance he's willing to put up in order for the more interesting stories to remain deeply buried...
P.S. According to those who've succeeded to infiltrate Jeff's close inner circle, he's not really one for looking back, and we've learned through the Mr. Blue Sky remakes project that he'd even love to wipe vast portions of ELO's recorded catalogue from history if he could! For someone described as a self-confessed perfectionist, it must be so difficult to live with knowing he wasn't always in such control of every last detail, and I can't blame him for wanting to keep certain topics firmly in the past.

I don't believe the relatively new owner of those Time test acetates wants to be identified (probably to avoid suddenly being flooded with requests to share what must be even more of a holy grail to hardcore ELO collectors than the mythical Secret Messages double LP test pressings), but he runs a well-known fan page on Facebook if that helps... Well with a hint like that you could have just as easily put his name out there.. lol. I had seen the photos of the acetates on his page and If I recall he gave a track list which only included the known songs. The unknown tracks have me intrigued..

I really should try harder! In terms of those two supposedly unknown songs, their identity isn't much of a mystery... The first is a slower piece with lyrics that was once described by an engineer who worked on some of the Time sessions, and it's believed this was called Sad Affair (which is likely, considering that's a placeholder term Jeff often used for earlier ballads along with such variations as Bad Salad to name just one I can think of right now). As for the other, I'll point you in the direction of the short instrumental that was also sequenced directly before Hold On Tight when this appeared as part of the Flashback compilation. While the title of this track has yet to be confirmed, I've seen it listed as "Time Transporter" by at least one source - whether that's an official designation or not remains to be verified, though I'm doing my best to research the exact contents of those early Time double acetates, since it's claimed at least one familiar composition was presented in a different mix.

Dress him up in a red cloak and he'd be the coolest Father Christmas ever.... He could climb down my chimney anytime. If Jeff was Santa he could enter my home and give me presents any time he wanted. I rephrased my reply so no one would get any funny ideas - Timeblue and Helmut83. I know how your disgusting minds work!

Hhhmm, correct me if I'm wrong, but to imagine others would have dirty ideas you have to have those dirty ideas first. So, what would that make your mind, elophile ? I think it would make it as disgusting as Timeblue 's and myself -and that's a lot-, or am I wrong? Heck, "climb down my chimney" is a fantastic metaphore, I admit I'm not sure I would have been able to come up with such a dirty thing myself! My respects! BTW, I saluted you in the shoutbox yesterday, but given that I got no reply I'm copying my salutation once again too see if I get better results this time.
