UK tour done. What does everyone reckon will happen next. I'm going for new album and Wembley DVD in November followed by a 10 date American tour next Spring and a 10 date European tour next Summer - playing relatively small outdoor shows. i.e., not Wembley size gigs.

Well the mike stevens band now have commitments with take that in sept (festivals including live in hyde park) and november in australia / new zealand announced so far. all timings are going to have be around it...
next year - big areas / small stadiums (like the hull one) would seem like a sensible move now...isn't it what take that did this year ...

A US tour in the Spring would be perfect so I'm actually glad to hear that September - November might be out. Spring would give me a little time to save up!!! Of course if US dates in the fall happen I'll just have to cash in some of my retirement... priorities!!!

He'll go home, rest up a bit, and finish the new record he was talking about a while back.

Maybe this "next tour" Jeff was talking about is an American tour which will be coming up soon.
I'd guess that when the Wembley DVD comes out Jeff will be on TV to promote it but (hopefully) he will have something else to promote at the same time maybe another UK tour or special gig, an album reissue or a brand new LP.
I doubt there will be any gigs other than short-notice charity shows in the near future because Wembley was a year between announcement and show. I'd give it till Christmas before we hear about any more big gigs over here.

If (and I know it will never happen,ok?) Jeff reformed the gang (Bev,Mik Louie etc) for an American tour, with his current standing in the popularity stakes being high, I'm sure the ticket sales would go through the roof just like here in the UK. Bigger venues, more venues too although a full scale world tour such as OOTB 78 would not be achievable,he could reach out to more fans. Oh well, back to the cocktails....

ELO were always a faceless band except for fans like us. For most who educated themselves about the band, it was obvious It all centered around Jeff though Bev, Richard, Mik and Kelly were very much appreciated for their contributions. Americans aware of the band now are as likely to know of the current lineup as the ones of the past. I think a small tour of around 8 or 10 shows in the larger cities across the country is most likely.

I'm sort of hoping for a big run up to the next album/tour. Assuming its going to be a year or more away then they'll have to keep the momentum going in some way. The Wembley DVD is obviously going to be part of it but it would be nice to think there would be some other goodies as well. An extended Long Wave with some or all of the Down The Lane songs added would be nice. There's also the Bungalow Palace session just sitting there, anyone else feel that that one could possibly be added as an extra to the Wembley DVD?
