I wonder if they'll actually have an actor play Jeff? Surely they'll mention The Traveling Wilburys in this biopic and Jeff for definite because he did produce some of Roy's later stuff, I'm guessing they're doing this to commemorate what would have been his 80th birthday?

It sounds as if it's focusing a lot on his early career, but the Brothers Wilbury could make a cameo.

As far as who could play Roy? Don't laugh, but former American Idol contestant and sometime Queen frontman Adam Lambert just may be able to pull it off. He can hit those notes like Roy used to, and he even somewhat resembles a young Roy.

As soon as I read this I thought I'd misread it! Half because I'd never heard of anyone attempting to biopic-ise Roy before and half because I didn't think it possible.

I hope it's a classy biopic and not one of those cheap TV movie types. Sometimes the best biopic focuses closely on one point of a person's life and doesn't try to fit a whole lifetime of personality and achievement into 90 minutes. Even Roy's documentaries struggle to fit his whole career into the allotted time (usually more time than a movie has anyway) and the most the Wilburys get is the shortest of look-ins at the very end. 

In fact a good idea would be to focus the whole movie on Roy's Wilbury time and to use that to do flashbacks to his earlier career.

If Jeff features he should definitely be played by Jeff himself since he looks exactly as good as he did then .
