I went to see The Zombies perform Odyssey And Oracle from beginning to end last year and Brian Wilson is touring right now performing Pet Sounds live for it's 50th anniversary.
Out Of The Blue will be 40 years old in 2017. Wouldn't it be great if Jeff did an Out Of The Blue 40th anniversary tour next year -- performing OOTB from beginning to end. To me that would be FRIGGIN' AMAZING!!!
What do y'all think?

To the question "wouldn't it be great?" I answer "yes, definitely". Some of the songs of that album that have never been performed live are among my favourites, like "Sweet is the night", "Jungle" and, more than any other, "Summer and Lightning", so it would be awesome to see them performed live.
As to how likely it is that it would happen, I think about 0.01%, which makes all of the above wishful thinking.

ANWR and OOTB played live back to back, I would die happy.

I can see an album concert happening one day but not during Jeff's current moment of popularity. At this stage everyone (ie the general audience and promoters) only wants the top pop hits and full stadiums. Maybe some time along the line when Jeff and his management are looking to do something a little different an album gig may happen.
At the moment Jeff is a still a working musician and not living off his legend which is the stage most of the performers who do album concerts are.

The Zombies actually had just come out with a new album that they were promoting in addition to doing Odessey and Oracle when I saw them but I think Jeff is definitely in a better place career-wise than they are.

I find it interesting to look at the careers of older musicians and bands.
Some groups that toured frequently and you could see for a few pence in the 60s you could never afford to now (The Stones?). Even if you did manage to get tickets for their tout-friendly stadium gigs.
While others that were the bees-knees in the 60s, and hard to get tickets for, you often see for less than £20 in your half-empty local theatre on those 1960s package tours.
A lot of the musicians in the former category tend to be still releasing popular new material while those in the latter make much of the fact that they are 'nostalgic'.
These are just my musings and not necessarily reality.
I'd put Jeff in the former category along with folk like Clapton and Springsteen as they are all still immensely popular and still "growing" (if that's the right word) while not looking back as much. However, I'd put Bev and his touring band in the latter along with Roy Wood because they play live more frequently, more cheaply and more locally and give the people what they want - basically the old hits.
I'd actually put money on Roy doing an album concert of 'Boulders' first maybe.

Sigh...have to write a couple of bestsellers first, to be able to afford that. I expect they'll be playing special nautical versions of ELO hits: Here Is The Cruise Cabin America Oh No, Not Bo'sun When I Was A Buoy Telephone Liner It's Overboard Keelhaul My Life Getting To The Port And a few tunes from the albums Out On The Blue and No Anchor Let's just hope it doesn't end in Rock 'n' Roll Is Sinking.
