Just a thread here for people to mention songs that have a good solid non-imposing guitar solo in them.
Non-imposing meaning, not lasting more than say a minute or so at the very most, just gets in there and out of there and does it's job.
We can all name guitar-god songs that have a monster guitar player doing several minutes of their magic; but this is more about songs we hear on the radio, etc.; though no problem if someone wanted to mention someone's deep album cut.
A good example of what I mean would be along the lines of the guitar solo in "Mr. Blue Sky", which to me is short, tasteful, and effective in doing it's job.
The first song I'll say is "Peg" by Steely Dan, that's what inspired me to make this thread. I played that song a few times yesterday in the car, and I just couldn't get over how perfect Jay Graydon's guitar solo is in it. I remember seeing the dvd "The Making of Aja", where they tried a bunch of different ideas for the guitar solo, and then finally Jay Graydon was able to nail it. It's really something.
Another one I really like is the one on "Sweetheart Like You" by Bob Dylan on the "Infidels" album, done by Mark Knopfler who also produced that album. Very tasteful and effective. I recommend checking the song out, the original Dylan version, not the Rod Stewart famous version, if you never heard it before.
How about you, any non-imposing guitar solos you think are particular good and effective?
"Tonight She Comes" by The Cars, that is another song to me that has an amazing guitar solo in the middle of it. I read in the liner notes that Elliot Easton had four weeks to come up with it when they were putting the "Greatest Hits" album together, so that's how he made it so nice and layered.

Apparently it's quite hard to see them with the naked eye, you need to be looking through a camera or other type of lens?
