Let's just hope he says something new and original for once and not just the same old things he repeats over and over in every interview.

That's all down to the skill of the interviewer, and also how much of a fan they are. It's too easy to go the lazy route and just re-hash questions from other interviews with the excuse that the majority of listeners with a general interest would be interested. Plus, if the interviewer isn't a fan themselves they aren't going to know what to ask to produce an original conversation.
Of course Jeff might also list certain topics which will be off-limits,such as his relationship with former ELO members and management. But it should still be possible to bring out more of his personality with some well chosen questions.

Yeah, I'm not expecting him to reveal things about his break-up with Bev Bevan and/or Kelly Groucutt in this kind of interview -that's probably never going to happen, but if it ever did I'm sure the kind of interview would be much more lik the Rolling Stone type-, but at least some small-talk kind of stuff, like for example if he still follows Birmingham FC, if he's able to cook anything, which are his favourite movies or books, what inspired him to write this or that song which is not Mr. Blue Sky... I don't know, anything which makes us hear something new from him.

I`d love to know whether JL is considering a follow-up to AITU. Or even better: I`d love to hear that he has already started working on it.

I second that and add that I hope the next one is of better overall quality.

I second that and add that I hope the next one is of better overall quality. Yes, that`s true. AITU, to my ears, was a good record with some fine songs, but not really great overall. 8/10 probably if I had to mark it and that`s not bad in any way. But we all know that JL could do 10/10 if he was really going for it. More real strings maybe and less fake strings. Longer songs with a third verse or a bridge. More background harmony vocals. Most of the songs on AITU somehow lack the icing on the cake (although the cake itself tastes really good). And no more songs about evil women, please :-) But don`t get me wrong, I`m really glad that AITU is in the world.
