Attachment DeletedI am glad to see a correct description of what awaits the audience at this concert in Stockholm on October 12. Sure, a few sorry people will actually think this is ELO, but most of them will know that it's Phil Bates playing cover songs. So, has Phil come to his senses or has Jeff's lawyers told him to cease and desist?

The overall concept of that artwork (and even the font) isn't a million miles from what Jeff's been using for the Alone In The Universe Tour, plus I still see that Phil - or at least his promoters - are putting Electric Light Orchestra in large enough letters that don't spell out for those who aren't already aware he's not actually directly connected to this group. I'd suggest ol' Mr. Blue Sky himself gets in touch with the lawyers again... Some people clearly never learn!

Yeah, but it's miles better than many other ads. And this time, the information is actually correct. I don't think the lawyers can object.

You've got to give him credit for recognizing a good musician though. Others ride on the coat tales of terrible musicians.

Tribute acts often use similar visuals as the original artist, so I don't mind the ELOish picture or font in the poster. What I do mind is desperately trying to prove some kind of a connection to the original music which simply isn't there - like the "as such the direct successor of Jeff Lynne" kind of stuff. But Bates doesn't seem to do that anymore.
