There seems to be a growing trend for artists and bands these days to go out and play complete albums in full,so which album would you choose if it was possible? My choice would be Eldorado, failing that,Time and 3rd choice OOTB.

With those first two albums, there is a story to be told that would make them even more interesting to watch live, you could even have graphics or even acted sequences on the giant screens...

It would be a treat to hear any album played in full, they all have tracks that haven't often been played live if at all. But I would concur with my learned friends above about ANWR, plus I think Face The Music would be pretty special.

Time.
And it's funny several of us are saying it, because he didn't even play one single song from Time on his recent tour.
Optimistic dreamers would ask themselves "maybe he is keeping them for a full Time tour"? No.

I also think that Time would work well as a west end show, ala Mama Mia, We Will Rock You, Our House etc. Basically using the Time album but throw in other ELO songs too.....

Even though it's likely the current tour will end up being Jeff's final on such a large scale, if he was to perform an album in full then it would have to be one he's actually able to play already - I can't imagine him rehearsing large portions of something like Out Of The Blue. Looking at previous sets, roughly two thirds of Time was represented during the 1981-2 shows, while ELO 2 has been played live in full. Very little from Secret Messages and Balance Of Power was ever attempted, and although the Zoom Tour had quite a lot from that album, it appears to have since been forgotten by its creator (apart from him presumably approving the remaster a few years back). Ironically, ELO's other concept album, Eldorado, has similar live representation to Time, and it's odd to think how little of Discovery was played live - the fact there are music videos for all nine of its songs throws me off. I'd give anything for a one-off set of deep cuts such as The Diary Of Horace Wimp, more of the Xanadu material and Hello My Old Friend, the latter preferably with Bev on drums, accompanied by a full orchestra conducted by Louis Clark... I can dream!

The problem with Jeff is that he has that idea -which I don't understand at all- that songs played live have to sound exactly as in the original studio recording. That means that if he doesn't have the equipment or the musicians necessary to reproduce a certain song to be a copy of the original he'd rather not play it at all.
Apparently he can't deal with the idea of, for example, playing a song and not including a special effect. All of the songs played live have to have all the arrangements, sound effects, vocoder parts, backwards messages, everything, and so he has Richard Tandy doing too many of those bits. That's ridiculous in my opinion and shows how much of a structured guy he has become during his reclussion in his Bungalow Palace doing it all by himself.
I'd like to see him relax a bit about that. Those sound effects, as characteristic to their songs as they may be, add nothing to the musical feeling that his songs transmit. I'd like him to be able to play live with a small band and maybe 3 strings instruments, just playing the stripped chords of the songs, making the basic arrangements which are possible with a reasonable amount of instruments and not bothering so much with sound effects and all of those noises. I'm pretty sure he would convey a whole new dimension of the beauty of his songs; although we'll probably never see it, as he always chooses to stick stubbornly to the original versions even if the result of it is almost the same for us than playing the songs from the original CD.
Maybe if he did this, playing Time songs wouldn't mean such a huge challenge.
Rant finished.

If He did BOP, it would be over in 35 minutes so giving plenty of time for other material

Although I agree it would be good to see the whole of Eldorado or Time live I do not think these albums are ones Jeff would necessarily enjoy playing. Eldorado comes from a very long time ago and he has certainly moved on from his style back then in both vocals and music. Time is much the same as Eldorado except Jeff has kind of "gone back in time" and regressed (if that's the right word) to the classic era, the era of OOTB and ANWR if the recent tour is anything to go by.
I think we have a much better chance of seeing a full ANWR as a great quantity has already been performed in this tour. I don't think we WILL see it but we have a better chance. The album I DO think we have the greater chance in seeing a full performance of is OOTB as it is the most common ELO sound everyone thinks of and I wouldn't put it past some "fans" (who do not frequent this forum!) that they already think ALL of the tracks Jeff did live this year came from OOTB!
I don't mind Jeff trying to recreate each song exactly live because it's preferable to him trying to do it on record. I don't object to anything Jeff wishes to record (or re-record) but I think his efforts are better spent trying to recreate the sound with US listening in rather than just the flies buzzing around his Californian home studio.

ive always thought it would be a great idea to sings the songs with only an acoustic guitar and a string quartet, that would be special imho.
