Recently I came across my CD of Atomic Kitten's "Be WIth You" (yes I know) which, of course, heavily sampled Last Train To London, although it's Wiki page suggests it is an "adaption" of LTTL which is an interesting differentiation but I'm not entirely sure, accurate description? I stand to be corrected , of course, but as far as I know, this is the only ELO song to be sampled (or adapted) that I know of. And I wonder why JL gave his permission for this and apparently no others?

Didn't Cher sample ELO many years ago? I could be wrong! Well,I do stand corrected as this is an interesting and revealing site, (although no mention of Cher). Thing is, apart from Paul Weller, Steve Miller and Granddaddy, (I love "The Crystal Lake", you can hear the influence of JL and ELO all over it) I don't recognise any of the acts or tracks mentioned - I must be older than I thought ! www.whosampled.com/Electric-Light-Orchestra/

Oh. We need dig this up. I love Cher A friend of mine back in the 90's who I introduced to ELO, was also into dance music . He told me if you listen closely to the beginning of 'Do you believe in life after love' you can here a small sample from Epilogue at the end of Time. I didn't believe him at first but on listening myself, true enough it's there. I informed ftmusic about it at that time.

One of my favorite examples of ELO sampling, is "Southern Wind" by Full Tote Odds. It may not be everyone's thing, but I think it's pretty badass.

One sample I can remember was "shine" by The Lovefreekz they sampled "shine a little love" It made the top ten in the UK in 2004. One thing I remember on the night it aired on top of the pops they showed a short clip of ELO performing it, it's probably the last time they were on the show.
