I'm going to the Tuesday night gig at the o2, and was wondering, what are the chances of catching Jeff and/or Richard after the gig? Ultra-slim or non-existent!?
Has anyone been able to catch them after (or, perhaps even before?) at any gig at all in the past? I would love to get their autographs.
I'm taking the CD album sleeve for Time, my favourite album of all time, anyway. I'm sure it will come back just as it was, but I can dream!

Waited behind at the stage door at the back of the Free Trade Hall Manchester, on the Face the Music tour. Richard came out carrying a keyboard in his hands, he told me to follow him to his car, after he put his keybord in the car boot he signed my LP cover. I remember Bev Bevan was wearing a full length fur coat. Jeff took ages to come out because he was doing a radio interview. They all had time for us and a chat, and we all got to shake their hands at the end, real gents Jeff had his could not sleep for days moment meeting the Beatles, this was mine at 15 years old.
This more than made up for being told I could meet them after the On the Third Day gig by one of the roadies, only to be stopped by the theatre manager at the dressing room door. I went back and told the roadie, who was busy packing the gear away what had happend, he took my LP cover off me and went and got it signed for me, even the roadies were great aswell.

It's much harder to wait for artists at the big venues he's playing now, the stage door is behind several layers of gates and security usually

They are probably gone before you've hit the exit

I didn't even try at Liverpool, somebody had said that the exit for performers was well-hidden and underground. Don't know if it was true.
I have real issues asking for autographs, the ones I really want, by people I really love and respect, I never get because I'm too respectful to bother them! A chap who I used to work with actually met Jeff while he was on security at an ELO gig in Birmingham - he said he was a fantastic guy and really down to earth.

Jeff always seems quite amiable when signing autographs, even though some of the people asking are quite rude. However, I doubt he would want to schmooze too much after a show.

I'm the same I don't like bothering people and I'd be too shy/embarrassed to ask for an autograph anyway.
