I was walking through New Street Station today and a guy passed me carrying a copy of the Prog Magazine, ELO edition and a book that appeared to be about JL and ELO. I didn't know there was a bio about him out, at all, but just found it on Amazon. The reviews are a bit mixed but has anyone else read it and is worth a look or is it just a bit of a rehash of stuff we already mostly know, as some of the reviews claim?

The book is good, it doesn't tell us anything new but it is worth a read.

If you’re a fanatic fan, you know most of the story. But, it’s nice to have it for quick reference. Same goes for Van Der Kiste book on Roy Wood. I recommend buying both.

I'm reposting the following from older threads:

I've read (van der Kiste's] book on Roy Wood, which I think is the format you can expect for the new book as well. I don't think it's going to be a cut and paste job, but I am pretty sure that it won't be as detailed as my two-volume ebook "Eldorado" on Jeff and ELO, the first part of which (-1986)was released in 2014. It's a pity that you guys are not really in command of German since it contains a wealth of information on every album and tour, including some never-before-revealed facts based on some interviews I did with Colin Owen, Tom Thiel (BOP sessions), Dick Plant and some others. I also contacted Mack, and he answered some questions as well and was really helpful. How about a German language course ;-)
