To those who know the area, i work once a week next to NEC (i'm assuming it is the Genting arena these days) and at the end of the day it is often painful to get on the motorway if there is a show on...but that is a combination commuters battling with concert attendees.
on a saturday, how heavy is the traffic in that area?
Cardiff have a home game tomorrow i'm pondering can i possibly do both ...leave cardiff at 5 and still get there in time for the feeling?

I think you might be pushing it leaving at 5 to get there in time, especially if there are any accidents roadworks or any other unforseen problems. Traffic round there is usually OK on a Saturday. But with a sold out show at the areana, other events at the NEC and the cinema thats open now it could take a while to get in and park.

yes i think i'm guilty of wanting it all. I'm hoping to park in my companies car park tomorrow so i may get lucky..but i think you are right any issues (on m50/m5/m42) and i'll be struggling...should only take 2 hours but it never does

We went to Manchester from Cardiff last Friday and became stuck in a horrible jam on the M5 before we even got to Birmingham - no obvious reason except maybe road works. It wasn't even on the radio travel news, as if it's so common they don't even bother talking about it any more.
