It's been played tonight! Will Roy join Jeff in Birmingham for this too?

Apparently in place of When The Night Comes, which makes it only 2 songs from AITU in the set now, which is a shame. At least he didn't drop Secret Messages. Now, if we could just get Twilight in the set...

Time, Secret Messages, Balance Of Power and even Zoom have so many great songs that I feel would be perfect for Jeff to dust off for the benefit of his more dedicated fans, but instead he's content with a mostly "greatest hits" type set plus the obligatory promotion of Alone In The Universe. At least we're getting some variation to the setlists, and I can indeed only hope that he's introducing 10538 Overture now so it's well-practiced for a very special guest appearance from a certain Wizzard in Birmingham...

Tonights gig was so much better than Manchester and I left Manchester thinking it was brilliant

I think I would've passed out with excitement had he played this in Manchester.
To have Roy Wood and Richard playing along with this - and Roy doing his vocal parts - maybe even Bev drumming (one can dream) in Birmingham would just be devastatingly awesome!

Although When The Night Comes is my favourite track off the new album I am okay with 10538 Overture replacing it. Actually, the setlist does include some little surprises such as Wild West Hero or even Shine A little Love. Never would I have thought that Jeff Lynne's ELO could ever perform Secret Messages, which is such a brilliant underrated track.

It would be cool if he performed "Birmingham Blues" while there.

maybe this belongs more in the "you know you're obsessed with ELO when" thread, but
this morning, I'm working at the computer and Mrs Orioles is out doing some Xmas shopping when ... I hear someone trying to open the patio sliding door. What??? I look out the back window and see a sketchy looking guy, worried look on his face, out of breath, he runs off towards the next house. tries their back door, hops the fence runs through the woods to the next house, on and on he goes
and what came to mind? it's 10538
Did you see your friend crying from his eyes today? Did you see him run through the streets and far away? (Ah) Did you see him run, did you see him fall? (Ah, ah, ah)
police helicopter showed up soon after

No cameras. It's normally a super quiet neighborhood. Gets kind of boring.
Something dug a big hole on the hillside behind the bird feeder. I had thought maybe a camera would tell me what sort of critter made that burrow. Ground hog, fox, raccoon, ...

Our camera has caught someone trying to break in our car. People walking with a car behind them, cruising the hood, trying car doors, or running up drives checking out the cars there. Catalytic converters, and tires for certain models, have been a big money maker here recently.

a local policeman visited to get some information for his report turns out that they started chasing Mr Sketchy in the next county (5 miles away) he ditched a stolen car a couple of miles away, then fled on foot heading my way after trying our back door, and the neighbors door and the next house - he eventually found a way in at a place on the next hillside the police had a canine unit (think Mabel and Olive) and the helicopter to track him he barricaded himself inside but after a short standoff, the cops made the arrest
I suppose I should refer to him as 10539 in the future.
Baltimore has a reputation for this kind of thing, but we're way out in the burbs. And the funny thing is, this guy was on the run from even further out rather than the city. I'm pretty sure 10539 is going to have a lousy Christmas.
