It's really disappointing that the ticket prices to Jeff Lynne's show at Radio City Music Hall in NYC are so outrageous. The entire orchestra section (like 25 rows) is being sold as VIP packages for $600. - $700. per seat. Those are the good seats. The rest of the venue with the not so good seats are going for $250. - $55., with the cheapest seats so far up in the 3rd mezzanine that you might as well stay home. Um, doesn't he have enough money already? Why rip off the fans who have waited 30 years to see him.

You have a legit bitch debby . No argument here about ticket prices! Ridiculous.
It is what it is. So we ticket buyers need to think about where he is playing and how our buck is best used. As I’ve written in other posts, the best place I want to see our Jeff is this size of venue, 6000 seats. $600/55 for a small venue? or one the size of a football field? $55 gives you better seating at a small venue than football size. You won’t have thousands of people screaming and messing around with, and impending the ale line (right H W?). And, I think we will be able to see Jeff just fine without a TV screen begging our attention. Cozier.
It’s brutal, those prices. I’m not happy either. What is going to be my choice?
debby, do you live in New York City? Or, are you hoping Jeff will come to your city?

It's New York where everything is way overpriced compared to the rest of the US.

If he plays Atlanta or say Nashville, prices should be more in line.

I had a look at the prices and it seems that ,as here in the UK the secondary market has got in very quickly. The first site to come up on Google is a secondary ticket seller. Its not official. Hopefully prices will drop as the concert dates get closer. I'm looking as I type and there are some orchestra section tickets for $165 each. It's the service fee that's terrible. $38.40 for each eticket. !!!Now that is a rip off!g ggg grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! !

From my school Economics class I guess it is a classic case of Supply and Demand. If the service is limited but available and the demand for it high then the greater the price. Next week I will discuss Economies of Scale

Those fee's! Again: Gone are the days when the local record shop dude just had to reach under the counter for the tickets.

My brother paid $600 to see the Stones, a few years back. And that was just the ticket price. No VIP package included.

What really pees me off is when a venue doesn't issue a ticket but gets you to print it yourself and still charges a booking fee.

My brother paid $600 to see the Stones, a few years back. And that was just the ticket price. No VIP package included. My old boss paid for the entire company to see the Stones a few years ago. I remember he'd done something to upset my sales manager. At the time the vehicle manufacturer I worked for had it's own ticket sales operation for employees, so on his way out of the door that night he chucked me his credit card and told me to order 50 tickets for Wembley to make up for his annoying her. This was in the days before pin numbers etc. So I called and duly spent £3500 on his card! Then the bastard Stones cancelled because they were going to have to pay tax or something!! So we went to the pub instead

UK face value VIP prices are £270-£495 ($382-$700) standard tickets £56-£121 ($79-$171) so we have to dig deep too. I've been going to a few gigs recently and these ticket prices are similar to all other big name acts.
