Well...I'm at a complete loss of words for this. How do you all feel about it?
For the first time in 15 years, critically acknowledged band, The Orchestra, will be putting out a brand new studio album of original material. The album is titled, “Isolated In the Galaxy,” and is the followup to 2001’s, “No Rewind”
When asked about the new album, guitarist and vocalist, Parthenon Huxley, responded: “It’s been an exciting process. We’ve been so apprehensive about getting back into the studio. One day, we played live for a friend’s local radio show, and [we] told him that we would never record another album unless people showed interest. Right before the end of the radio show…there was one guy who called in and thought it sounded like a great idea! Now knowing that any person would care to listen, we were inspired to head back into the studio."
However, creating the album has not come without its difficulties. The Orchestra would not be the renowned act that it is, if it were not for one man, and that man has declined to be a part of their “Isolated In the Galaxy” album. Vocalist and songwriter, Eric Troyer, has split with the band due to legal issues. Ever since Troyer left The Orchestra for solo endeavors, they have been fighting for the rights of hits like, “Honest Men” and “Power of a Million Lights,” which featured Troyer on lead vocals. Fans of The Orchestra have long disputed whether or not they can be considered the real band without Troyer on board.
“Isolated In the Galaxy” contains 10 original songs, and will be released on February 29th, 2017. “It’s unusual to set such a far-off release date, but it’s been so long since we’ve made an album…we really want to build it up the right way,” said Huxley, “each song is roughly two minutes in length. We feel that the perfect pop song should be as short as possible.” The album will even include an operatic ballad, “I Shall Depart,” dedicated to late band member, Kelly Groucutt. The album will take time, but members of The Orchestra insist it will be worth the wait.
Isolated in the Galaxy
Way Back When
Rainfall Romance
Nasty at the Core
The Dark of Dusk
Sunlight Rising
It’s a Darn Shame
