A deserving bunch of artists this year, but no ELO.
Cheap Trick, Chicago, Deep Purple, Steve Miller, NWA.

That seems like a small list of inductees. Usually, they have at least a couple of early influences or non-performers being inducted.
Cheap Trick are very deserving. Great power pop band.
Chicago have been eligible forever, so it's about time. Peter Cetera will apparently be joining them to perform at the induction ceremony, so that's kind of a big deal.
Deep Purple fans have been clamoring for that band to be inducted for years(much in the same way ELO fans have), so it's good that they finally get recognition. I mean, how many guitar players started out by playing that opening riff to "Smoke On The Water"?
Steve Miller is another long overdue inductee. During the 70's, he pretty much dominated rock radio with catchy nuggets like "Jungle Love", "Rock n Me Baby" , and "Jet Airliner".
NWA are rap pioneers who are topping off a big career with that fantastic biopic "Straight Outta Compton".

No ELO and no Procol Harum either I have a soft spot for Miller though. He's the closest to ELO here, having been musically quoted on OOTB.
