If I ever got to meet Jeff, after the initial shock and after I managed to pick myself off the floor, these are the first pressing questions that come to mind –
- What's it feel like to finally have a REAL orchestra to work with onstage (BBC Concert Orchestra)? - When are you working with Tom Petty again? - Why are you so nice? How does someone as internationally famous and successful as Jeff Lynne manage to stay so down to earth and interesting? - Who would you ask to be in a new Traveling Wilburys? And what did you admire most in Tom, Roy, Bob and George? - Why don't you write an autobiography? Can I write it? . - What else do you do for fun? No one can write music ALL the time. You must at least go out to dinner, what do you order? (Nosy, nosy!) - Will you play my home town, honestly it'll be only a few hundred people...

Maybe nobody has noticed this yet. Nearly all the interviewers seem more preoccupied with marvelling at the rarity of Jeff's live shows and praising his back catalogue than anything technical. Jeff should do a live album with a full symphony orchestra - the kind he should have done around '74.
After seeing him with the BBC CO at Hyde Park and on the Jo Whiley BBC concert it will be very odd indeed to see him (if we ever will now) with only a bare band and perhaps minimal strings.

queenofthehours. Kind of surprised at the number of musicians he had with him on those late night shows. I never watch them, so don't know what number of musicians large bands have on stage. When I think of his concerts, I see Hyde Park. As you, and everyone here knows, most of the interviews are boring only because we're hard core fans. There are very few that go beyond the "oh, my!". Horacewimp with his Jeff Lynne mask, could do most of them.

And at those prices I want an orchestra! What's the least on stage with Jeff? Six during the Golden Years?
Perhaps Jeff should hire Horace and the mask to do the rounds for him . Gives the great man a rest from answering the same questions again and again and again and...
I remember the first thing I said about Jeff before I knew I loved him when I saw him on TV in 2012. Someone in my family insulted his hair and shades and I replied something along the lines of that "anyone could be under there, it's a disguise".

Was curious as to what questions if you could ask him anything, if you ever met him? Me personally I'd ask him:
What was it like working with George Harrison on both Cloud Nine and in The Traveling Wilburys? Was there any literature that inspired you with the concept of the Time album? What piece of work from your whole musical career are you particularly proud of and why? Would you ever work with Ringo and Paul again in terms of co-writing, playing an instrument or producing an album? Favourite Roy Orbison song and was the signature glasses based on The Big O himself?
