I have this song on a Move bootleg and I wonder why it's never been released. There are a lot of Move re-issue CD's with plenty of unreleased bonus tracks added, but never Falling Forever. Does anyone have any info on this song?

Maybe Robert Porter of "Jeff Lynne Database" can help. I checked out his site for the song, but didn't find it there.

A lost Jeff Lynne gem, sounding like a fusion of both the idle race and the move. I know Rob Caiger was searching for a possible studio recording at some point. I wonder if he found it?

Yes, it's very Idle race-y. I like this track a lot. If it was recorded for a BBC session it probably fell between the cracks of their transition from the move to ELO.
If it ever comes out officially it will be alongside the rest of the session/sessions which will be really interesting to hear. I expect there is a lot of stuff hidden in those BBC archives.

Hey gang, Just checking in. haven't been on the forum much. There is however a re-issue coming out with Falling Forever on it. I believe at the end of this month. Already have mine pre ordered at a record shop (Whats that?...) here in town. All of the Move pre- Message From the Country are getting deluxe re-issues in the next coming months.
In case this is posted somewhere else I apologise (baby).
Cheers Al Findlay

Although it won't have any bonus tracks, Parlophone are completing the current Move reissue campaign by releasing Message From The Country on June 24th... www.amazon.co.uk/Message-Country-VINYL-Move/dp/B01E4WLJ9U/?tag=shtv.uk-21As for Falling Forever, the only copy of this comes from a BBC transcription disc, and if you want to know exactly what's in their archive, here's a document (which was ironically shared on the Steve Hoffman Music Forums just a few days ago!) that answers this very question: Would it be too much to ask for a complete radio sessions compilation?

Are there documents available for what ELO and Idle Race material the BBC hold?

Are there documents available for what ELO and Idle Race material the BBC hold? I asked this very question to the person who uploaded that picture, but unfortunately they don't have anything for The Idle Race or ELO. However, a list of what exactly exists in Rob Caiger's personal archive was leaked a few years ago, though it's now extremely outdated... I'd be interested to see if anyone can find a copy of such a document - there are quite a few ELO-related files I recall from back in the day that I wish I'd saved, wrongly presuming they'd be around forever!
