Just catching up on some of the live performances Jeff and the band have done over the last few days, and I have to say this band is fantastic. Anybody know the the names of everyone in the band?

Hi Chippa , my best attempt...
Jeff Lynne - vocals, guitar Lee Pomeroy - bass Richard Tandy - keyboards Milton McDonald - guitar, vocals Mike Stevens - guitar, vocals Bernie Smith - keyboards Marcus Byrne - keyboards Donavan Hepburn - drums Mick Wilson - percussion, vocals Melanie Lewis-McDonald - backing vocals Iain Hornal - backing vocals
That's taken mainly from Hyde Park line up which is the same in terms of core band. I may be wrong on a couple..(unsure on keyboards / Iain Hornal).

Hi bready234...thanks for that :-).
Was trying to get to the line-up as of now. Not sure if they're all there now from the Hyde Park gig. Some subtle differences I think..but unsure.

Hi radaget. The only one not there from hyde park is Mike Wilson. Mick Wilson is also part the 10cc set-up (as is mike stevens occasionally) and I think they are in New Zealand at the moment

Do you think that if I wish strongly enough the third date in Birmingham will materialise?!! It's just as sold out as anywhere else.
I hate the O2 as a venue - people deserve better!

I hate the O2 as a venue - people deserve better! you are right....i deserve better.....Jeff, im not too far from london (so i only have the O2 to aim at)...can you pop round before or after one of the shows to do a quick gig in the lounge....if its just you and Richard on a small organ (fner fner!!) i could possibly fit in a dozen people too...if i take out the furniture.... yes....i really deserve better....lol i suppose it could have been the RAH rather than the O2....maybe next time (thinking positively here...next time!)....but as he has sold out the place thrice over....yeah...its a big barn, ive never been...but im hoping for a good gig.......

4 nights at the O2. Sold out everywhere (tickets for 4th night still available). I must say the folks on this board wondering if we would see a repeat of the cancelled 2001 tour have had their fears put to rest. He is red hot in the UK. Now the question, at least for US Citizens, is how well will a tour of the US go. In 2001 I knew he could not sell out large arenas. In fact I do not know if he could even sell enough tickets to fill even half the arena. It is many years later and I wonder if Jeff will have the same wonderful results with US tickets that he has had in Europe. I think his stature has grown over time and his management is really promoting him here with his appearances on Fallon and Kimmel. I just hope it is enough to ensure he sells out shows in the big media markets at the very least.
Most of the big acts from the 70's and 80's (Styx, REO, Boston, Def Leppard, Cheap Trick etc...) have to join together as co-headliners in order to sell out smaller venues (5K - 10K). If they want to go it alone they have to play even smaller venues. I'm wondering if Jeff falls into this category. I'm hoping this is not the case and ELO being gone for so long will ensure a renewed desire to see them. Wonder what the rest of you feel about this.

Well, for me, the smaller the venue the better. As for co-headliners? I don't think this will happen. If it does, his co-header(s) better be kick ass. But, will his set be shorten?

Top tier practically sold out. Second tier only has a few sets left in a couple of blocks. The floor areas have a limited number left. Expect it to sell out tonight once people get home. I'm going to Brum on April 16th. But I'm hoping another date is added in at Brum because I would book again.

What the hell do those dumb Americans know anyway. They wouldn't know good music if it hit them in the head, they .........wait a minute......I'm one of those Americans I agree with you. If he can sell out the 5K venues that would be a big improvement over 2001 and I for one would be very happy as I live about 45 minutes from NYC and he would certainly play around this area. I'm just not sure Jeff would want to play the smaller venues when he is doing so much more in the UK. I certainly don't see him sharing the bill with anyone. Nor should he have to. Oh well, if it turns out he doesn't play over here at least we can say America got ELO off to a good start back in the 70's. It is appropriate that his homeland is embracing him so fully now. I loooooove the fact that he is playing the 02 FOUR times. Would never have thought that was possible in 2001.
