My local coach company are doing tickets and travel... Lucky for me I can book travel only... Takes the stress out of it. (60miles to the venue)

Well done to everyone who got what they wanted, I'm there in Brum on the 17th. The prices are a bit of a shock, be really interesting to see how the main sale goes. We rabid addicts will mostly pay a premium but the vaguely interested public? Maybe not.
On the other hand, it's been hugely promoted (for free) by the BBC which may save the day.

Trust me Friday will be a feeding frenzy. O2 and fan base presales are mostly sold out.

I have my doubts, i suspect lots of tickets will be gobbled up by agencies who have to give them awsy in March.

I have my doubts, i suspect lots of tickets will be gobbled up by agencies who have to give them awsy in March. May happen for some tickets - it always does and they'll probably end up getting recycled back into the system. But I remember when Hyde Park went on sale. Even I was amazed at the speed that 50,000 tickets were snapped up. And a further 1 million watching on Red Button. I think quite a few are underestimating the popularity Jeff currently enjoys. And there are plenty who are currently paying well over the odds already in their clamour for tickets. And for every comment I've read today from delighted punters whose quest had been successful I've read another two from disgruntled and frustrated applicants who may have to go through it all again tomorrow and Friday.

And there's a few more who cant or wont pay the asking price. I'm delighted I've got tickets but it leaves me with a sour taste. I'm pleased I like less mainstream artists such as Neil Finn and Wilco, at least I dont feel completely ripped off when I want to take the family.

In the current market I'd say the asking price was about right to be honest. Some artists that could be classed in the same bracket as Jeff charge a lot more. When I saw the Eagles in Brum I think the cheapest seats were about £90. This is the going rate these days. You think this is bad wait until Madonna tours.
The fact that the rip-off merchants are circling these gigs like vultures suggests the expected demand. These people might be complete charlatans but they're no mugs either.
For me personally I don't have a sour taste. I paid £121 per ticket for four people which to be honest was less than I expected for the best seats. I've paid far more for worse seats at the same venue to see artists I consider to be vastly inferior to Jeff.

Good stuff, but honestly 480 quid for 4 tickets, is he struggling with the mortgage? Really its a disgrace, but I suppose no different to any big corporate event.

I doubt Jeff has that much control over the final pricing to be honest. Most of it is added on by the venue, the agencies and the distributors. Jeff will be lucky if he gets 20% of it.

You guys are griping about price and I'm sitting in the US scared to death he won't tour here. Suck it up. You'll make more money. There won't be many more (if any) Jeff Lynne tours.

If those prices are what took to get Jeff out on the road, so be it. There are plenty of us who find value in top shelf entertainment and it doesn't get any better than Jeff Lynne.

Are you suggesting I'm being negative? As your initial statement appears a little truncated so I might have misunderstood. Anyway assuming it is, I maintain that £400+ for a family of four expensive and to me somewhat disappointing. But come next April I dont suppose I'll care how much the tickets were.
