Did the coloured versions come out at the same time as the standard singles then? and also would they have been the dearer to buy? I can't remember... Fairly sure they came out at the same time, judging by other coloured vinyl and picture discs I bought around the same time the price remained the same.

Not sure on that one, I don’t think they were more expensive though, I do remember coming home and realising it was blue and thinking wow... Different times!!

I know this is probably on the wrong thread Horace but there is a really nice 12” version of Livin’ Thing in translucent blue vinyl as well. The one I find really hard to find is Shine a little love 12” in black vinyl, it’s always the white vinyl I find.

I think I had the coloured singles first, then found the OOTB on blue vinyl. It was soooo brilliant, not only twice the size but two whole discs. More recently I've been unable to resist various Muse releases on heavyweight/coloured vinyl, the whole feel of it is just lovely. Definitely a billion times better than a puny old CD. Not just the discs but the bigger packaging and artwork. And that's before you play it. The youth of today just wouldn't understand....

Well you two don't count, you're honorary "oldies" like the rest of us..

Drove to the in-laws today, heard Turn to Stone on the way and Hold on Tight on the way back, both on Radio 2.

Tonight was the test drive of my new (or I guess technically it'd be "old") stereo system, take 2 - and I caught Don't Bring Me Down on the radio. Fitting, given the circumstances!

Hubby was doing a crossword puzzle yesterday, and knew how to respond to the clue "Wild West Hero" band, even though it's never played on the radio and was not a US hit.
