Just doing this poll for fun, since the recent CD of the Week "Brothers in Arms" got me thinking about it.
Jury is out for me for a while, as I really think it through.

Brothers in Arms is classic and will stand the test of time.
Check out his collaboration with Emmylou Harris - All The Roadrunning. They blend effortlessly.
Great guitar work toward the end of this song:

Hmm, very hard to tell which one is the better singer and which one is the better guitarist. Jim

Yeah, I picked "On Every Street" too. A little less flashy and syrupy than some of their other albums. I was almost going to go with their first album, but it seems like a recording issue with "Southbound Again", where it could have been mixed better, that always bugged me, much as I like the tune.

Making Movies, it only has one dodgy track (Les Boys) and one semi-dodgy track (Skateaway) All the rest are right corkers and well above average

Brothers In Arms, although On Every Street has it's good moments. Especially love Ticket To Heaven, which slams greedy preachers and televangelists.

Yeah, guess he decided to go after the really "tough targets", though it was pretty simplistic of him to think that even the most gullible people think they are actually buying their way into Heaven with contributing to a televangelist. They believe in the blood of Christ and mercy of God to save them; but then they get suckered that it must be God's will to contribute to a tv preacher, but I've never known one to think they were buying their way into Heaven. That and then spouting every liberal cliche cause in "My Parties"; but still really like those anyways as they are at least entertaining. Jim

I think My Parties is meant as a parody.
Ticket to Heaven is a slightly more subtle version of the Genesis track Jesus, He Knows Me.

I think it was quite a shot at America when he said the doorbell plays "America the Beautiful" and "Tie a Yellow Ribbon", as in tie a yellow ribbon on the trees for all the dead soldiers we cause. Also, seems like he should have cared more about the unborn than the dolphins and the rhinos he mentions, so that's why I say he utters all the liberal cliches, but doesn't take on the issues of real substance, IMHO.
