Any comments about this? unomusette? Gotta be honest...I don't like it I think that Matthew's creative vein is exhausted. "The Resistance", "The 2nd Law" and "Drones" sound exactly the same. But hey, this is only my opinion. unomusette, don't kill me! ( lol) Psycho and Mercy are two good songs though

Aaaaarrrrrgghhhhhh!!!! etc... I absolutely love this album (durr! of course I do, it's Muse!) but really, they might just as well have not released the last two, gone straight on to this and saved a lot of messing about. On the other hand, most bands who've been going as long as Muse go through wobbly moments, so I forgive them Drones does have a couple of dodgy tracks to these ears, but mostly it's an exhilarating return to form and I've thoroughly enjoyed trying to indoctrinate the ever-patient BSJ into the fold. Her war face is extremely scary, I'm here to confirm Well, she scares me anyway, but since introducing her to Psycho I predict she will take over the world. And live, woooooaaarrrghhh! Muse have just stomped all over the classic metal festival Download, witnessed by a very muddy me and helped along by lots of epic songs from this album. This little beauty had its live debut, screaming along was the highlight of my weekend: And as for The Globalist, who can resist a 10 minute plus epic which finishes up based on Nimrod from the Enigma Variations? Not to mention the final track, Drones, which features just M. Bellamy reproducing a gregorian chant of epic complication. To quote the totally brilliant Psycho my ass most definitely still belongs to him. Unfortunately I don't think he wants it, bah! I urge you all to buy or steal this album and rediscover your dark side, the side that mistrusts authority, or failing that grab it on Spotify or pm me for some mp3's. Here come the drones...get your hard hat on...

You are a huge fan, so your comment doesn't count C'mon, just kidding "Showbiz" and "Absolution" are my two MUSE fav albums. I don't like "Drones". That's it. Regarding their live perfomance, I think they were at their best around mid '00 (Glast 2004 best ever). Morgan Nicholls is doing most of the piano/keyboard parts, so now Matthew can go up and down the stairs and sing among the crowd. He's now a "Proper" singer, rather than a frontman lol MUSE nowadays... MUSE at their best...

I do agree with you about Morgan, since Black Holes and Revelations I think he should be acknowledged as more of a permanent member of the band. They certainly couldn't pull off their live shows without him so when they win awards for Best Live Act or suchlike I think Morgan should step up to the podium with them. Matt himself has stated that they brought Morgan in to allow Matt some more freedom on stage. And it's way better to have a real live person than to use backing tapes. None of my Muser mates agree with me, however, how rude! From Morgan's point of view he's getting to travel the world first class, play at the best and biggest venues, enjoy the waves of love and appreciation from the crowd and yet still not have to do interviews or dodge the paparazzi. Maybe this is how he's chosen things to be.
You're right, I am huge fan, so I can find good things to say about all their albums. But their last two had some serious blunders in them for me and I'm not shy about trumpeting it. Having given Drones a good listening to I genuinely think they're back with more of their original lustre.
As for their live peak, I'll always regret missing them before 2006. I think to have seen them in the early 2000's would have been a proper treat, before playing enormo-domes made it necessary to put on a huge, choreographed production. Of course this made the experience better for the people at the back, but it did mean that setlists became pretty much set in stone and there was a lot less chance to be spontaneous.
But it's too late! I'm hooked and I can't ever be freeeeee!
*totters off, gibbering happily, clutching deluxe copy of Drones*

Jooc, what do you think about Morgan solo career? I think "Organized" is amazing, if I remember correctly I bought all the singles and EP's too...oh and his single called "Moonlight Rhino" too, I like it

Yes!! Organised is a brilliant album, we always make a point of playing Flying High whenever we're away on one of our trips in our trusty car (who is called Owly, don't ask). Perfect song for whizzing down a French autoroute or winding your way through the Pyrenees or suchlike. It's such a surreal-sounding collection, really different to anyone else. When we managed to catch Muse after one of the Psycho Tour gigs, we were able to get Morgan to sign the cover of our Organised CD - you should have seen his face! Great big grin, as if he'd forgotten he ever made it and was amazed that anyone had bought it. I didn't know there were videos too, I'll enjoy having a good wallow in them, thanks!

Well, if he was so surprised when you showed him your copy of "Organized", what would he say about my collection? lol

Waaa! Just showed that to Mr Musette and he was mightily impressed Looks like mostly singles though, is Organised his only album? Now that pesky so-called band Muse are taking up all his time he'll never have chance to make another, how upsetting.

Unfortunately "Organized" is the only album so far I think he's planning to release a new one but now that he's 100% involved in the MUSE project probably he doesn't have enough time to record and promote it. I also have the Organized promo (lower right corner of my picture), but it's not so rare lol eil.com/shop/moreinfo.asp?catalogid=162165
